This is because lower quality LEDs are being used. Higher quality options like GTR Ultra 2.0 or Morimoto 2-Stroke 3.0 give much better results. Those companies actually spend time and money on research and development. On top of that, most people don't PROPERLY adjust the headlights after doing this type of upgrade. There's more to adjusting headlights than facing a wall and using a screwdriver.

TFL Gang, Thanks for sharing this video. I did a very similar LED conversion with my 2019 F350 and it does take a fair amount of time and involves considerable disassembly. I was surprised by some of the additional wiring harnesses elements required in the kit, such as the Fog lights. Fog Light swap was very easy by itself. I will say that I did this for about half the price with All and Yorkim Led Lights on Amazon and was very happy with the quality. I also replaced the Front & Rear Signal and Brake LEDs and still was substantially less than the F150LED Cost.

For the guys doubting how well these lights hold up: I run headlights like these in all three of my rigs here in Alaska, experiencing down to -40° and on dirt, gravel, and muddy roads more often than paved. In my experience I get about a year before the fans start sounding awful and the bearings start going out. At around $90 a set it's a steep price, but for how bright they are in winter with only a couple hours of sun each day they're well worth it and cheaper than hitting a moose. My only time I've actually killed one of the lights was going through water just shy of the hood, and it killed one light altogether (Cougar Motor on amazon). I have had the best luck with the JDM Astar T2 on amazon. Which are very bright, and have held up the longest compared to others on amazon. If you have a pavement princess in Texas, these will probably last the life of the vehicle. Just be sure to adjust them so you're not blinding everyone.

Be careful Andre! I don't know about the 2020 F250, but most headlight reflectors are designed to reflect a specific type of light. So if your headlight reflectors were designed to properly reflect and focus incandescent light, it will not reflect/focus LED light the same way. Many of these reflectors create very bright stray light (unfocused) in bad directions that blind oncoming traffic. I almost got into an accident because of an oncoming vehicle who did what you have done. In most states, you can get a ticket for this, so pay attention to re-aiming and dealing with tray light from your headlights or you could find yourself to blame for an accident.

What your calling the voltage regulator is actually a CAN Bus module, and the fog lights have a resistor. Both trick the body computer to simulate the same resistance as the original Halogen bulbs to keep from turning on the headlight out message on the truck display. You should be able to activate LED front lighting eliminating the need for the modules and resistors. A Ford dealer or a body builder should have a program to enable LED lighting. IDK about Ford, but RAM has the AlfaOBD app you can get for android, and turn LED lighting yourself.

Have Tommy come from the other direction in the Subaru at night, so we can get a report on how it looks from there. Since Super Duties already fry oncoming drivers with the weak sauce halogens, I expect this will be ugly. If you feel that you need Super High Intensity, Blinding LED headlights & Streetlights to drive safely, perhaps you should consider NOT driving at nighttime. Depending on the bulb and the headlight housing, there may be a need to "clock" the LED's so that the bulb elements are horizontal. And many high/low bulbs NEED this to work right. Beyond that, many cheaper LED sets have a wider shaft that the LED's mount on, altering the geometry for the reflectors. The best results are the ones where the LED elements are closest back-to-back.

Having to take off a fender isn’t exactly what I would call plug and play. This is like one of my sisters old cars. Years ago she had a BMW where one of the headlights needed to be replaced. She was going to take it in to the dealership to get it replaced and I told her why pay all that money because it’s simple to do because I’ve done it before. Well when I went to Autozone to get the bulb and tried to find the housing for the bulb I couldn’t find it. I went in to ask for help and the guy took one look out the window and saw that it was a BMW and said You gotta take that to the dealer because they have to take the whole front end off. It wound up costing my sister almost $200 just to replace a $3 bulb. It’s ridiculous what auto makers make people go through for what should be simple maintenance.

2022 with second battery absolutely needs to remove grill there is no way to get at the lower driver side light due to a jumbo wire harness. Also, 2022 added a 10 mm nut on each side at the top of the grill. You can not just pull it off. The thread is actually part of the grill. It’s a gray nut that comes off.

Andre, since you didn't show it, did you guys clock the bulbs after installing them? The LED bulbs have an adjustment to allow you to position them correctly. They need to be clocked to where the bulb "blade" is vertical and the diodes point to the left and right.

Wow. Put a set of sea light led’s in my 2017 F-150 counting fog lights. 20 minute install. If I had to take the front end apart I would have replaced all the bulbs with led’s. Plus no fans in my heat sinks to fail. 8 clockwise turns on my headlight adjustment so I don’t light up the interior of cars coming the other way. Original light bulbs were so bad they were not safe at night. Especially if it was raining.

To those complaining about cost cutting. Ford sells roughly 1 million f series trucks a year. If these headlights were standard and cost Ford an extra $50 per truck to install and half the trucks they sold were base trucks that needed the upgraded headlights that's $25,000,000 per year in extra costs. Not everything can be standard equipment or they will not stay competitive in their pricing.

Jason Kahn You can do just bulbs and get a decent light pattern. It just requires some research and looking at the bulb design. That fog light bulb they installed looked like it would be a really diffuse light pattern and not very useful.

Nothin against F150LEDs.com, but these particular "bulbs"(diodes) are not the best option. They're not BAD by any means, but a pair of GTR Lighting CSP Minis in this size is equally bright if not more so, and does NOT require all that relay shit and cooling fans that these seem to require AND they're only about $140 for a pair. If not the CSPs, even just the regular GTR Lighting "bulbs". Cheaper and brighter too. Headlightrevolution.com has a plethora of videos here on KZfaq comparing various Amazon and eBay diodes in the same housing and they measure actual lux and beam pattern too I'd DEFINITELY recommend checking out their videos, especially if you have a late model F-Series.

@@iggy-pg6gq tell me about it. I kept my finger on the stall st all times to flash them back so they know my high beams aren't on. Ive never experienced lights as bad as what is in Ford pickups.

@@justinluttrell8990 right! All the "work" features that we wpuld use at work are reserved for a high priced platinum truck that will not be used to do any work at all. How about offer all of those features on a base xl. Those are the trucks we drive in the oilfileld and on construction sites where we're constantly climbing in and out of the beds of these trucks. To get most of those useful features you have to move up to a $50-60k truck.
