Upgrading the RGB30 Speakers

6 ай бұрынIn this video as I take a look at a simple speaker upgrade for the Powkiddy RGB30. The RGB30, equipped with side-firing speakers, may not offer the optimal audio setup. To address this, I've ordered slim front-firing speakers for a test and comparison. In this video there is a quick sound test using two different games to showcase the impact of this upgrade. This process is easy, budget-friendly and perfect for beginners looking to enhance their gaming audio

finally someone started to mod these. i'm planning this too. yeah, powkiddy is a cheapo so they just built in totally random, nonsense speakers which are facing to the left. and because there are a bunch of space inside the overall experience is boxy. the sound just bounce inside the housing. the reason why it feels more solid after the replacements is that because the speakers are huge and fills bigger chunk of space and also facing to the grills. but they still don't match with them. we have to find better speakers which can perfectly fit.

@10:54 Can not be with the new speakers ... they are lying in front of the console ;) Are the new speakers now better in terms of quality or loudness ... was it worth the investment ? Where do you get this crystalizer audio filter from ?

Thanks for this. I wonder if this speaker mod would affect hall effect sensor joysticks when installed on top of the larger speakers?

its on retroarch go to, settings>audio>dsp plugin, then choose crystalizer.dsp

kinda hard to tell from listening through pc speakers but in your opinion how much of the dynamics was improved percentage-wise? also, where did you get the replacement speakers?

It’s a decent improvement, but in hindsight these are still a bit large. The speaker dome pushes into the thumbstick and there doesn’t seem to be a way to make these fit without it hitting anything. I’m currently looking for a better option but it’s a decent improvement, not enough to warrant it as a “need” but more for fun if someone likes tinkering. I think the original design for the RGB30 was with the original speakers facing downwards (which makes more sense).

@@rocket_mouth390 thanks for the info! yea it is a shame about the stock speaker positions. however, i did try retroarch's audio, crystalizer filter that some users recommended online wasn't expecting much but its a good improvement, more clearer, less muffled

Bought these on AliExpress, I believe they were 2w 8Ohm speakers, but in hindsight they are a bit large so I’m looking for something a bit more compact
