Bigfoot Dad obviously relates to life as a dad. Somehow when you have a child and a big yard, heavy duty, high quality lawn equipment becomes super cool. It's kinda like - child at 6 months, dad gains 15-30 pounds. By the time the kid is 2 and a half years old, trimmers, lawnmowers and all the goodies/attachments are now coveted. I gotta tell ya, BFD, I'm jealous of your mower and not brave or patient enough to fiddle with making the changes myself. I might have to get actual tractor tires for the rear though, for Oregon terrain. Good move on the tires and wheels. Nice work. I love my Cub Cadet XT1 42'. John who?

@@BigfootDadExploresMontana Heh, cool. My pleasure and thank you. Your work is inspiring to dads across the mainland! My wife: "Why do you need tractor tires already - it's brand new?" Me: "Well if it's wet it will make a huge difference, especially on the slope, it will take a better bite, give good traction. I could keep the turfsavers as spares, and..." Wife: "That's on the bottom of our list of needs right now." Me: "Ok, true, but someday they'll be nice to have. Still, we will need the following attachments..."

@@BigfootDadExploresMontana EZ-Slide Oil Based Graphite coating helps preserve the deck AND works to keep wet grass etc. from building up under the deck. I wire cup brushed mine clean, scuffed the remaining good paint, blew the loose dust off with an air chuck. Wiped it all down with acetone and brushed on 3 coats of the EZ-Slide. I have a Craftsman T240 that has the exact deck setup. Just slapped the AG tires on the rear to get through some swampy spots in my 1-3/4 acre yard.

I scraped off all the grass this past Saturday from My 2020 Cub Cadet Enduro with Intellipower and power washed it. Later this afternoon (Monday) I am going to spray mine with two or three coats of "undercoating" I bought from Tractor Supply Co. It's for undercoating automobiles. It should hold up for years. I will check it in two months to see how it is doing. I had considered bed liner. Glad yours worked out as good as it did.

I added a washout port to my mower the beginning of summer. You'd be amazed how well it works. My mower deck used to look like that when I would have to scrape off old grass a few times a during cutting season. I checked it this week before storing for winter and with regular use of the washout port after every cut there was hardly any grass stuck to the mower deck.

I have a 2005 Troy Bilt Pony. 42in is perfect for my property because it's just a single family home. The deck is starting to rust through and it is discharging all of the debris out of the top of the deck. The mower runs great but I know I'm going to be in the market for a new one after this season. I was at Home Depot yesterday picking up blades and I was literally looking at this exact Cub Cadet sitting next to the same size Troy Bilt Pony that I have right now. I like the hydrostatic drive. I like the taller profile and I love the seat. This is $400 more than the Troy-Bilt. I'm glad you made this video. It just made it easier to make my decision.

Dude, go get a riding mower lift and thank me later. And stop mowing wet grass!
@BigfootDadExploresMontana
@BigfootDadExploresMontana 4 жыл бұрын
Gilitar - this is... tempting. And it's giving me an idea. 😂 As for the mud, I wish I could avoid that, but to be honest, it is so dusty that I actually wait for a light rainstorm before I mow sometimes. I do let it dry out for a bit, but right before it's completely done, I'm out there hitting it out as fast as possible.

I have a mower lift, it is a great time saver. I use my cordless impact to remove the blade nuts then put them back on with a torque wrench, its much safer with a impact removing the blades, you can put them back on with an impact but I don't recommend it as you may over-tighten and strip the threads by doing so. Yep mowing really wet grass causes all that buildup under the deck.

Great video! My wife and I are going to buy our first new riding lawnmower today. I have destroyed our last two used mowers, and countless push ones as well. And well, I'm like most guys, need the new one to be "personalized". Thanks for the great ideas. I live in a very hilly area and your tires look awesome! We will certainly be checking them out. I was not aware that buying ATV tires were even an option for replacements. Subscribed to your channel, and look forward to seeing more of your great work.

Hi, Tim - thank you for leaving your feedback! I didn't know they'd fit either until I was browsing alternate tires to help with grip and these very similar sizes came along. Then I had an idea... 😂 But later I found out that a lot people have been doing this a while too. Let us know how you're liking your new mower and, if you decide to upgrade, maybe a short video is in order... 😉

I have watched about 46 videos about lawn tractors and zero turn mowers. I have taken 1 trip to the store for a sit down in different models.and a phone call for extra info. I was at the probable decision on CC XT1 42. But honestly, I have been walking my mower for 30 years, and the hills and dips make the decision difficult. This and your other Cub Cadet video are just fun. If I get one, you will have tipped that balance. I will probably need those big O tires for my hills. Thank you again.
@BigfootDadExploresMontana
@BigfootDadExploresMontana 4 жыл бұрын
Hi, Stewart! Thank you so much for your feedback! I think as long as you're hitting the hills straight on and they're not too steep, something like this may work (in accordance with the safety guidelines for the mower - sorry, have to say that 😉). The tires seem to help my on my terrain pretty well. If you decide to get one, let us know how it goes!

@@BigfootDadExploresMontana Today was the day. They (Tractor Supply) raised the price back to 1699, from last weeks 1599. Didn't notice until on the trailer. OH well. Got it home went straight to my hills. It did OK on about 1/2. The other 1/2 was a little sketchy. My hills are bumpy. as a rear wheel lifts up, ... yes it just spins. I could rock in the seat a little an that helped. A little shovel work will fix my entry and exit, to the highs, and lows. Checked tire air when putting unit away . all 25+ PSI . Took them down to 13PSI and will how it does. Thank you for your pep talk. I think TSC owes you a thank you also. Now lookin for a GUITAR silhouette sticker. With Flames of course. :)
