Hey allen, how would 16 gauge material be useful as a bbq pit? Reason why im asking is because it seems like its the only cheaper item as far as sheet metal goes.
@AHill-oi9ct4 жыл бұрын
Thicker than most store bought pits
@Ruben9014 жыл бұрын
@@AHill-oi9ct Some people just dont understand that the store brand bbq pits are only thick on the door. Thats pretty much the first thing the customer grabs ahold of! If they lift that door and its heavy to them, they assume that the rest of the pit is also of thick material, which is not.
@AHill-oi9ct4 жыл бұрын
@@Ruben901 if you're fabbing to sell or for personal use, try something around 10-12 gauge. That's about an 1/8 inch thick and not very costly. Last time I checked I believe a sheet of 10 gauge was about $150. It'll blow away anything from Wal-mart. I made a pit from a 60 gallon air tank last summer and that's about how thick it was. With a stand made from 1/4 inch angle, one man can't carry it off.
@Ruben9014 жыл бұрын
@@AHill-oi9ct That angle iron frame is very rigid, i believe its better than a square tubing frame?
