I wonder why the loco hauled sets had so many brake vehicles - there’s a 5 coach set with 3!

The final month of loco haulage on Portsmouth - Cardiffs before passengers were squeezed into the wonderful new Sprinters. "But the new trains are so much faster!!" 🙄

Well the old trains were looking tired and outdated but at least they were fun to ride in. Westburys GW drop quadrants went in this year as did those at Thingley Trowbridge and Bradford so we were lucky for a view late in 86.

Before the loco hauled trains were replaced by terrible 2 car early sprinters sadly a step backwards high revving engine they made you feel sick to travel on them.
