Join us today as we urban explore an abandoned high school in St. Louis Missouri. We found out about this school by watching the show "Abandoned" featured on Viceland. This school was in incredibly rough shape, which was surprising due to the fact that it was abandoned a little over a decade ago. This is due to the fact that this school had complaints about leaking ceilings and rough conditions, even before its closure. One of the main reasons that it closed was that it was hard to maintain the large, ancient and outdated structure. The auditorium's small size was a big problem, because it could only fit half of the students.
This urban explore was quite the adventure! If you liked this video make sure to share, like, and subscribe! New videos every week!

Thank you for the video! Graduated in class of 1971, this video brought back so many memories! It's a shame to see the condition it is in now.

I as well attended cvpa in the 90s, and although the tour was amazing and creepily nostalgic, he could never describe what this footage means!!! Unless u walked those halls, u could never feel the pain this sends through your soul!!!

I attended that school for one year also, my sophomore year 97-98. A lot of memories, growing up in the county and going to private school all my life, going cvpa was a culture shock

I graduated from Central VPA in 2000, and your video so far is the clearest one of the abandoned property I have seen since. The cafeteria for which you were searching is in the basement, and I instantly recognized the library on the 2nd? floor. The list you found in the 1st floor Chemistry classroom was dated in Fall 2000, and I remember their names and the one on the lost ID. I have an identical one from 1997 and 1999. Thanks for the video. It's a shame it has gotten so bad.

I went here my freshman year in 1991. Remember my first school dance on that warped gym floor hearing Red Hot Chili Peppers playing. Sitting in those stairwells listening to my Walkman before the first bell rang.

I went to Central High school in the 1960’s. My wife, Marge, graduated from here in 1964. What a shame to see what has happened to such a historical landmark. Many, many happy memories were made at this school!

My mother went here. She mentioned that there was a boys AND a girl's gym. Suppose that's why there is two.

The reason it was abandoned sounds a lot like many of the reasons Detroit’s public schools were abandoned.

My grandmother was a student there in 1926 when the tornado hit. I believe some students were killed. She told me she was in the staircase heading to the basement when the roof was blown off.

A man on Facebook saw me in a group about the high school. I attended there from 95 to '96 during the desegregation program. Anyway he sends me a picture of a student that went there during the tornado and died in the tornado and he swore she was My doppelganger and when I saw the picture about died because I'll be damned if she didn't look exactly like me and we share the same first name it's totally creepy but yes students did die in that tornado

seeboone I went in yesterday. Just from the experience I can say you shouldn't go alone and definitely bring a flashlight. There were a lot of signs of people living in there. Clothes, food, beds, ect. I'd say to go during morning or afternoon time.

I went there from 95 to 96 participating in the end of the desegregation program. I was bussed into North City from South county. I honestly wish I could say nice things about the school in the curriculum in the building but I just cannot because they're just was not any. The students I made friends they were awesome but everything else was just downright deplorable. I went back to Hopewell Senior high my sophomore year and I was either behind because I literally learned nothing my freshman year at that school. I counted the days our English teacher showed up it was a total of 86. This was the first time I ever was judged based on my race. Or my assumed grace. Death and faculty both assumed I was full White and I was degraded for being assumed White. I'm native American but anyway it was culture shock and the surrounding neighborhood was full of crime poverty and drugs. And math we would sit out on a balcony and watch the crackheads in the crack house across the street and I'm not over exaggerating or being dramatic. I remember going to English class up on I think it was the third floor and one day my foot just went through the floor like I feared the floor was going to collapse but my foot actually went to the floor. We had to have clear backpacks because they assumed we had guns we had to go through metal detectors and just a three streets that surrounded it will terrifying it was constantly something going on yelling screaming gunshots I'm not being over dramatic I swear I still have nightmares about that year in school. It was definitely an experience and I'd like to say I'm grateful for having it and having the opportunity to do it but if I had to do all over again I would have never done it. The neighborhood was unsafe the building was unsafe the staff and the faculty were incompetent the school district was impoverished it's just sad that it was like that. And I'm not saying the high school that I returned to was wonderful it has its issues but it was night and day from this high school
