Exploring Abandoned WG House in Pennsylvania
Built in the late 1800s, this somewhat unique looking house still stands today, but on the list to be destroyed. With about 3000 sq feet on 4 acres of property, the last owner was shown to be a landscaper who ran his business on the property. Next to a busy road, the entire property including many other houses right near this were bought out in 2007-2008 by a developer. The developer's plans were to demolish each house including this one for commercial use development. The entire land was re-zoned for commercial use at that same time frame. However, the property still stands b/c of the battle the developer has been going through. The life of this house though will not be saved sadly. It will remained abandoned until the wreaking ball is called in. Hope you all enjoy and video to follow.

Sucks that these old places get torn down rather than being saved. They always get replaced with stupid housing developments and things too. This could be a beautiful place if fixed up. No one really cares about historical homes or anything anymore which is a damn shame.

+philfam4 This one would have to be torn down to the frame and the wood beams treated for it to be even safe to live in. Mould abatement for this house would be cost preventing in making it a home or business again.

The 60 fps is a keeper. I does look great. I hope everyone can appreciate these old houses, as this one, are all lath and plaster. What a tremendous amount of labor with all the rooms plus nooks and crannies. In several of the rooms where the wallpaper has come down you can see the plaster still looks great. I think your guess of the age is quite right. By 1958, 'or so' sheetrock or plasterboard became the norm. My feeling is this place was built LONG before that.

Out with a beautiful set of old homes that could be fixed up (possibly) and many memories. In with a Subway and a Sheetz gas station, that's next to a Fasttrac, that's across from *another* Walmart. **sigh**...

Great video!.. I've been hoping for a while that you'd switch to 60fps, coupled with the wide angle lens and shoulder rig/support, the reduced motion blur gives a really clean image for that extra detail I think we all want in videos like these. It's a shame to see houses be bought out, and plans to be demolished for a business park type thing to go in, and it never happens. There was quite a few homes near me that I didn't get a chance to get shots of that they tore down for a Mejers store, and then they hesitated to go through with it and now its a big row of driveways to nowhere.

My house is around 80 years old and has an open master bedroom/bathroom. There is no door to the bathroom. While it's not the entire wall that's missing, it's more like a half length of wall separating the two rooms. I do believe the master bath was added on at a later date so maybe that's the case with the house in the video.

Im glad to hear that, and that theres someone like me. down the street from me is this little olive green house that was built in the early 40's and hasnt been lived in in many years. seems the doors were locked and people just moved away. well long story short, when I go out for a walk I always stop and look at that house and wonder about all the people who once lived there, and the happiness that lived within those 4 walls -- not to mention the laughter. Goofy as it sounds I think that former energy lives on within the walls of these old places.

Abandoned Steve That's good, the only thing you will need is just a lot of memory card's. I know because i tried shooting in 60fps my urban explorations. With a friend video camera and the same memory cards, that i used with my photo camera got full much faster. Anyway if you are interested in my country architecture (Romania), you can take a glimpse at my vids. I haven't posted new ones in a long time but this summer i will try to find, new accessible buildings. I don't have descriptions for a couple of videos because, i wanted to make them in depth. And honestly i didn't had the time, and i couldn't find much information's for some of them. This is why in a previous comment of mine, i was intrigue on how do you find information's on all your locations. I wanted to make a photography blog with my explorations. Because i love photography to but now the whole project is in stand by, do to lack of new locations. Anyway sorry for the long rant Steve, have a wonderful day !

ive been looking at houses lately to move and i saw one where the bathroom was sorta open, the bathtub and toilet were behind a small door but the vanity and sink were in the bedroom, im guessing the small room off the master bedroom was the nursery.

Honestly it looks to me like 1920s construction. They still used a lot of stone foundations in the 1920s. Extensively remodeling in the 1970s. The 1970s carpeting and psychedelic wallpaper and stuff. A few recent attempts to restore the house. Evident by a few modern fixtures. But not much progress on that. I'm pretty sure the bathroom was not open. It probably had a glass wall around it, that has been completely destroyed, or maybe a regular wall that was torn out for remodeling, but not completed. IMHO.
