cause a blackout does nothing to bitcoin except delay a transaction. If you are not talking about a blackout but a permanent state of no electricity you will have other priorities than to transact.

bitcoin's value is based upon its properties that make it a perfect money. Nothing changes that. Does fire become worthless if the grid collapses? On the contrary. Bitcoin can be transacted off grid as well if you'd want that. And if the grid comes online everything settles accordingly.. And in situations where a grid becomes permanently unavailable you will probably have other priorities to attend to.

@myceliumtechno my point is that it's not tangible. Not unlike a bank balance. If/when the grid goes down, debit/credit/crypto becomes worthless. The currency will be metals, ammunition and other consumables.
