URGENT Ventilator Recall Notice! Life with a Vent

I have been alerted there is a major recall notice which was recently released by one of the largest manufacturers of ventilators. #lifewithavent #ventilator #recall
Philips Respironics is voluntarily recalling many of its devices due to two (2) issues related to the polyester-based polyurethane (PE-PUR) sound abatement foam used in Philips Continuous and NonContinuous Ventilators: The first issue is the foam may degrade into particles which may enter the device’s air pathway and be ingested or inhaled by the user. The second issue is the foam may off-gas certain chemicals.
If you are using any of the affected devices, please contact your respiratory therapist, durable medical equipment company or physician to find out the next steps to take regarding your ventilator.

Thank you for taking the time to post this important video about the problems that exist with the Philips devices. I believe the recall site for the US is up but here in Australia there is nothing yet, which is unimaginable is this techo age. I wish everyone well and hope a solution is found quickly. Hello. I am glad I was able to help spread awareness about this recall. I cannot imagine all the ventilators affected. Hopefully a quick solution is available soon.

Have you heard any updates for the trilogy 100 by chance? I’m only hearing things about the c pap dream station. Thanks for any updates you can give me. My vender does not know much either.

Philips is trying to figure out how to fix the machines. They anticipate it will take about a year before all the machines are repaired. In the meantime, they are recommending using an inline air filter. This will hopefully prevent any particles from entering the lungs, which is one of the issues with the machines. More details will roll out as Philips creates a plan to repair the machines.
