I was just listening to the bit with the N word and I had a moment that kinda changed my outlook on it as a white guy that I wanted to share. I've shared this story a few times on facebook and black dudes always have told me they appreciated this take on it. When I was younger my views on it firstly were its weird we aren't supposed to say it or whatever, but its like one word. I'm not so selfish that I cant have one word taken from my vocabulary, if that makes sense, but what changed for me was when I went to the VA this one time. I am a disabled veteran from the air force. I remember being in line to talk to a lady for filling out some paperwork and I remember the guy ahead of me talking to her and I overheard her calling the guy "chairforce" or whatever so he kinda laughed and then asked "so what branch were you in?" and the lady said she had never been in the military. I audibly heard the guy sigh and I remember rolling my eyes cause thats kind of a military thing. Different branches give each other shit, like we called marines crayon eaters, etc. Its cringe when someone who has never been in the military says stuff like that. We don't make a big deal out of it, but its still weird and as I was sitting their thinking about it, I just made the connection that must be similar to white guys saying the n-word, but to a much higher degree cause its meant to be offensive from a white guy. Now I know its not the exact same, I recognize its intent coming from white guys is supposed to be offensive, and chairforce and all those terms are more just teasing or whatever. It did make a connection though for me where we prefer to hear that stuff from people who have similar experiences. Someone who has never even been to basic saying stuff like that just makes us cringe. The teasing is something shared by our brothers in arms, and the n-word is shared by people who share their own experiences. Idk if I articulated that very well, its been a bit since I posted my take on it, but if anyone has feedback on it I am happy to hear other takes or if it seems off just lmk.

I think everyone can discriminate against anyone, but racism in a country that actually had slavery for over two hundreds of years its different. Its how ghettos were historically created. Agreed. It's so plain and clear. I'm not a white person nor am I a black person but I see it so clearly. It is somehow entirely acceptable to be openly racist against white people. I think that leftists believe that this is the path to defeating racism, ironically. It is the strangest thing I've ever seen. So, leftists have become the racists that they claim to hate so much.
