It’s technically already started with the Seoul Series, but for the rest of baseball, the season is about to get underway soon. Thirty teams each with a different story to tell. Aspirations and adversities abound. Dreams of championship glory or a brighter tomorrow for each fanbase (except for the A’s). There’s been a lot of moving and shaking in the offseason. Big pieces moving elsewhere as the juggernauts load up and those that have shed look to reallocate pieces and overcome issues throughout their roster.
This video is in dedication to the season to be, and the game that brings a youthful exuberance to all that watch and play. Nothing like a good summer at the ballpark. Especially if you’re rooting for a good team.

Yeah, I lose some respect for these guys when they take gambling money. It’s really become a problem. I think we’re gonna see how much of a problem in the next 5-7 years. If I’m wrong, so be it. I still don’t think sports & gambling should be so closely entwined. I just think gambling is stupid. And this is coming from a recovering heroin addict, lol..

I want to thank whoever it was that decided to have the team's text intros linger on screen. I would always miss the titles, especially when the blurb is something other than the team name. It makes watching much better when you don't have to rewind to catch something you missed.

While I think it's highly unlikely he did unlikely (the current wire transfers show the bets were made on soccer and cricket. To be fair a lot of their moves took awhile to materialize when they became the best options. The Giants were clearly not Snell's first choice and he's on a "I wanna roll so I can negotiate a big deal next year because everybody thinks the CYA was a fluke one off". Soler and Chapman are 3 year deals. Hard to say how long the Robbie Ray deal goes for. JHL was the only deal that really felt the team committing to a guy for somewhat long term.

Giants also pulled the most scummy moves of the off season with Davis and their PA for the ballpark. Tightwad moves. I think that might have more to do with their reputation if they keep doing that kind of stuff.

@@SuperCatacata Ive heard speculation its because the PA announcer condemned the rather right wing Giants ownership (especially Charles B Johnson) for their political donations to far right candidates and so they intentionally lowballed her out as a power move rather than a tightwad move. The JD Davis thing was ultimately just scummy baseball money moving though for sure.

I think it's time for baseball to have their reckoning with gambling. Every other ad during a broadcast is for sports betting. In game ads for sports betting. Now the biggest star in baseball is involved in a gambling scandal. If they don't seriously punish Shohei, assuming he's responsible, it's probably about time they unban Pete.

Solid work as always Tree, but one thing I have to point out: I LOVE the new transitions between the teams with the slow fadeout of the flavor text. I would spend so much time rewinding those five seconds just because I missed whatever wit and snark you poured into it because the transition would be so fast, but now the slow fade text gives me enough time to see, read, and laugh. Your Blue Jays analysis was spot on. The Votto story has been kind of cool by itself, but this team has done nothing to get better and are aguably worse than last year losing Merrifield and Chapman. Even if Chapman’s bat was imaginary at points last season.

Utree, love the krusty krab music for the Pittsburgh pirates. The pirates are a young team. They will be good here soon. If not this year next year for certain. The funny thing with the Cardinals is the rotation was so awful last year that it’s improved a lot even with the 5 ERA innings eaters. I’ll take that over Dakota Hudson any day. Pretty sure that FO is banking on our young guys breaking out this year to win the NL Central with 88 wins

I’m excited for Bello, Casas, Duran and another year from Yoshida.. but to run back Whitlock and Houck and to sign Giolito who for one sucks and 2 stuck with his contract worth $15 mil a season for this year and his played option next. Also Liam Hendrix who won’t be back til mid season… just aggravates the hell out of me. Picture our pen. Let’s say hypothetical. If we signed Jordan Montgomery and let’s say Giolito stayed healthy. That pen of Whitlock, Houck, Jansen, Chris Martin and when Liam gets back what would that do for us.. just. Stop making these two starters!

One game away.. you could say, as a Red Sox fan they were cheated cause of the cheating scandal with the Astros.. I feel like he was the right man to run that team for another year. Frankly. They would have won it that year.. if it wasn’t for the cheating Astors. As soon as you got a “players manager”. You are doomed..

The Fact that the Yankees and Dodgers just will Not STFU up about 2017 is WHY the Yankees can't make it back to the WS and why Dodgers overachieve and Choke in the playoffs.
