People are complaining about Elena. Let me mention, both girls deal with pain in different ways. Elena deals with it by mourning her losses. Katherine deals with it by becoming stronger. Neither of them are better than the other, it's just the way they heal/deal with pain.

I don't know if you remember why, but if you can tell me where was the development in K, i believe you, but i watched the show more times, and Katherine is always just a selfish bad bitch who does literally everything to survive. No development. Bitch till the very last moment(trough 8 seasons). I don't say i hate her or anything like this, i just don't see any development in her😂😂

I can see your point but if I can recall she selfishly forced herself back to her body and jumped into Elena's body to live the life she always wanted which I understand but it was wrong of her to take over Elena's body and then she tried to ruin everyone else around her. Then in the end the only one she cared about was herself, her daughter, and Stefan but in her own twisted way. She still made everyone else suffered. She came back in the series finale just to get revenge on everyone so no ma'am she basically reverted back to her typical survival bitch mode so therefore her character development has been snatched.

Tamar Jean-Baptiste Elena didn't really much about John and Isabelle. Her adoptive parents died from an accident and not murder. Jeremy came back to life. Jenna was the only one who really died from murder that Elena cared about. Katherine? Her family was slaughtered by Klaus. Done. Include that no one really thought of her as a good person, remembering her as a heartless bitch (except maybe Caroline who saw the good in her) and then just die without no one ever loving her and her own daughter dying in her arms just before her own death.

Blahblah Blah Katherine's just got experience and she has lived 20 Times longer than Elena. of course she is stronger. But Exactly as you said, Katherine's family has been killed at once, so Katherine Saw it, she cried she cried.... And she had enough time to get over it. After her family she had nobody to care about anymore, so she just cared for herself which makes her selfish. Elena's family is always tortured one by one, just like everyone she cares about. It never stops. She is seeing the people she loves getting Hurt almost everyday, Katherine? She Saw it once and her family was already dead, never coming back. If Klaus would've tortured Katherine's family everyday like he did to Elena, she sure as hell would've cried like a bitch.

Another reason Kat's stronger: even though she's been through HELL, she never turned her humanity off, unlike, you guessed it, Elena. Katherine actually dealt with the stuff even when she was a vampire. She didn't turn off her humanity CAUSE SHE AIN'T WEAK.

MZ is#1 I agree that Katherine is better than elena, yh Katherine has had more time to deal with the pain, but she dealt with it herself, elena had loads of people helping her, elena has always had atleast one person loving her, Matt, then Stefan, then Damon. Yeah Katherine had Damon, but she admits in the end she never loved him, but Damon moved on, and when elena lost "everything" and turned heartless, people still tried but when Katherine turned heartless, no one stuck with her! Why? Cause her family was dead, and not coming back. So imagine living for centuries with no one and after finding someone, they don't love, that can turn someone cold

I have to say that I disagree Firstly let me explain So.. Hufflepuff traits: Loyal, kind, trusting Gryffindor traits: Brave, Stubborn, Outgoing Slytherin traits: Cunning, sly, ”Self-interested” Ravenclaw traits: Wise, Open, intelligent In my opinion no person can fit in just one of these categories because they are traits but you cannot only have one of them. So I say Amara: Hufflepuff and Gryffindor Amara seemed like a very kind person but she had bravery in her too, I mean she had the guys to kill herself...that would take so much strength Tatia: Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Gryffindor Tatia was Loyal to those she loved, and she seemed like a very smart person. But she was brave and outgoing too. She was brave too, I mean she had the guts to become a vampire Katerina: Hufflepuff, Gryffindor, Slytherin and Ravenclaw. Katherine was at first a trusting person when she had first met Elijah and Niklaus until..well know..dramaaa. She was brave too, I mean she had the guts to become a vampire to protect herself from Klaus there's the smarts and the cunningness. Even though he chased her she still managed to survive very smart. Katherine may seem like the bad guy but truly she is just girl who’s family was killed and daughter taken away from her, to survive she built up the bad guy image but truly just wanted love. Elena: Hufflepuff and Gryffindor. Elena was loyal to her friends and did anything she could to save them, she had so much bravery, I mean she was willing to die several times for her friends and family. She was Stubborn and Loyal to her very end.. So that's my opinion ❤️❤️❤️

Amara was the one who was not selfish and not a vampire. Tatia was a sweet innocent girl who fell in love with the wrong people Katherine was chased down by an idiot and in the end got turned into an immortal,became a selfish person. Elena didn't have a choice,she was forced to drink Damon's blood without knowing and Stefan didn't want her to die so he persuaded her to become a vampire and her annoying personality became enhanced

I seriously applaud Nina's performance...the distinction between Katherine and Elena especially. Katherine actually had a personality outside of being evil, she had motives and thinking patterns unique to HER... Even the flashbacks of her as a human being, she was nothing like Elena. And when Elena lost her humanity she was still different from Katherine, in mannerisms and gestures... I'm in awe

Love this!! This was very well put together, I like all the doppelgangers, it's hard to choose a favorite. Honestly, I know a lot of people hate on Elena, but I don't really understand why. Just because she handles her grief differently than Katherine did? Katherine and Elena are completely different, their backgrounds and pasts are completely different. Klaus killed ALL of Katherine's family in ONE night. They were all dead, he didn't torture and taunt Katherine about picking them off slowly and killing different family members and loved ones at different times like he did with Elena. Katherine's family and loved ones were gone in one single night. Elena was different, Klaus taunted her and constantly threatened and killed her family and loved ones constantly, of course she's going to cry a lot. Katherine never had to deal with being taunted and tortured about her loved ones like Elena did. If Klaus had done the same to Katherine as he did to Elena I guarantee Katherine would be crying all the time too. Each handled their grief in their own way, neither were better than the other. I personally love all the doppelgangers, it's hard to choose a favorite.

Aaron Dong I think you mean 500, and no. However, that whole thing was Katherine's fault anyways. Katherine didn't have to run, if she had actually waited a little while longer, she would have actually been saved by Elijah with his elixir he had from the witches he talked to. Katherine made the selfish decision to run and take the moonstone from Klaus, thus, making Klaus angry enough to chase her for 500 years. It was her own fault. The point is, if Katherine had a family who really loved her and cared about her, (btw she didn't, the only one who really seemed to care about her was her mother) she would have cried just as much as Elena has if she had lost her family one by one.

angien306 oops 500 years typo lol but I don't know much about the vampire diaries as much anymore as I've finished watching it a long time ago and finished season 7 weeks ago but I'm just saying that Katherine has been through hard times and I admire that she gets stronger and Elena sure has been through hard times and I might like her more if she was 500 years old like Katherine and not cry about everything XD

The universe will always bring the doppelgänger together. Amara and Silas, the first and immortals. If they actually did go with this plot, Katherine end up with Stefan(both are vampire), Elena would probably end up with Tom, considering that both of them are in medical field(Tom a paramedic and Elena becoming a nurse or doctor and she’s human) they both could of met somewhere along the path.

I dont know why but i cant picture anyone of the cast as dopplegangers, only Nina. She just felt so natural, maybe it was the hair, the clothes, and the attitude, but if i think about Stefan and his doppleganger Silas/Tom all i see is just Stefan, Stefan and Stefan, even if they all have different personalities🤷🏻♀️

Amara wanted to die because she was the anker for 2,000 plus years, she felt every supernatural that died pass right through her. She didn't have anyone's help, she was isolated and moved by travelers Tatia fell in love with the wrong people Katherine met the wrong person, which ended up in her family being slaughtered and her being on the run her whole life. Elena's life was turned upside down by Stefan, he hunted her down and looked for her. For his own personal reasons which brought her into the supernatual life. She faced hardships everyday before she even met the salvatores. But as soon as they found her it increased. They are all survivors.
