Very exciting pen form and "biggest" project yet.
3D printed resin fountain pen, made by William Shakour. Huge faceted piston filler. XXI century technology. And urushi, traditional technique, thousands of years old.

I'm Michal and I'm a fountain pen addict and I lacquer pens with urushi lacquer. On my channel, you fill wind tutorials, videos from my urushi workshop, presentation of techniques, tools and materials used in urushi craft. I am also showing pens lacquered by me and other artists. I review pens but mostly urushi and I focus on this aspect of a pen, not usual build, nibs and writing performance.
I am self-taught in this craft, most I know I do I learned from my own experience, trial and error. A lot of them. But also from Japanese books, and videos on urushi.
I make bespoke urushi pens to order, too, so please contact me If you are interested. It can be an ebonite pen I provide (I cooperate with several hight quality pen-makers) or you pen, provide the clip is removable and trim is not too elaborate.

Great pens William. Unfirtunately, on my „traditional” side it will be much slower process ;))

William's pens are great, and your work is fantastic, so I hope the combination will be epic. And the pens being so large, give you a big canvas to work on, exciting!

Cool looking pen. Reminds me of the Danitrio junikaku (12 corner) pens that themselves look awesome with tamenuri. Looking forward to the results.

This will be very interesting to see. I'm especially interested to see how things go with the ink windows after successive layers of lacquer... My mind thinks that wider windows would've been easier.

I just love the lacquer work that you do on pens... All of them look amazing.. I liked the gold leaf lacquer that you had done on Platinum 3776 but I have few questions wrt lacquering plastic. 1. Will the lacquer applied on plastic pen vs. an ebonite pen yeild a different tactile experience? 2. Will the lacquer applied on a plastic pen hold on to the pen? Will it age similarly? Please note that I have no experience of using urushi lacquer pens and my first ebonite pen is on its way. (So I am fairly new to fountain pen world) The above questions are just some things that I thought of while watching your videos.

Hi! Thank you ;) your questions: 1) yes. It changes. And can be modified further with type of urushi finish ., 2) done right it is as durable as on ebonite. Nakaya makes a pen based on transparen acrylic body - Akebono Skelton. And yes, it will age similarly.

Pen looks cheap to me. I don't think 3D printing uses the highest quality plastic. I'm sure it will look better with urushi.
