"Two years of fighting leave a mark. He has experienced more than one human does in a lifetime." What an understatement! But one which cuts through the lack of obvious physical scars this soldier has sustained. Unseen trauma is damaging in ways that defy description and diagnosis. Yet, the damage is there, the kind D-Day soldiers in TikToks find impossible to discuss.

It is very common in good tank crews. I was a Armored Recon Marine Vehicle Commander and as he said.. Everyone KNOWS their job like the back of their hands.. so speaking is not really needed on a good crew.

To lose your father that way, I can't imagine. My great grandfather bought a ticket to Ellis Island because he had one brother in the Red Army and one brother in the White Army, and couldn't bring himself to join one side or the other, so he left. This young man has displayed incredible courage by taking up arms to defend Ukraine against the invaders, even when it meant taking up arms against his own father.
@vz6235

That is a display of true courage that most men won't get to face in their life. To fight for the freedom of others, or face your old family who you know their ideologies of freedom and life have been rotten from inside-out by ruzzian conspiracies and propagandists. It's sad that this is the truth, but it really is. People who are for freedom, and people who are too blind to recognize what true freedom is. That is the basis of this Ukraine vs ruzzia conflict. Enslaved zombified people vs people who have seen the light of freedom and seek nothing but to be free from ruzzian oppression and control.

Ukraine is destined to become one of the top 5 armies in the world. This war has given the first hand experience of what future wars will be like to Ukraine alone. No other country has the equivalent experience. Fighting with little and restrictions requires more creativity than having endless supply of weapons where the tactics are already pre determined by old style commanders.
@Hapless0311
@Hapless0311 2 ай бұрын
That's pretty unlikely. It'd take decades even in a best case for your projection. They'd have to utterly bankrupt their entire country to buy half the aircraft that even a country like, say, France has, and most of the guys fighting now are conscripts and mobilized personnel who are otherwise too old for military service in normal times, so their cadre is going to collapse when the war is over, whether they win or not.

@@DarkoFitCoach lmao, someone's deleting responses. I'm fully in support of Ukraine, but I pointed out they'd both have to win and push Russia out first, and then completely bankrupt their country if they wanted to have even half the combat aircraft that, say, France does. They're a competent regional power, but they have neither the capital, resources, or manpower to be a big dog. Hell, most of their military is going to go home back to normal life if they make it through this, and their entire logistics network is a mishmash of the armaments of a dozen countries. A cohesive military with plenty of long-term cadre and a streamlined logistics network is the basis for something like what OP is talking about, and Ukraine doesn't have the luck to have any of those in the aftermath.

Okay now youre back Ready for this Okay Only 17-20 somethings are used in wars and practically none other is because old fuckheads dont fight in the wars they start. Also 20 year olds are not developed enough to realize this. Your brain does not stop growing until you are 25. 17-21 is also the mean age of active shooters in the U.S.

In the U.S. we didnt like the Bradley when it was 1st released. We knew it cost too much, took too long to develop, and it was made of aluminum. Then we sent it to war in Iraq and gained a new respect for the Bradley. I am happy to see how well it is performing in Ukraine. Maybe we did get our money's worth.

@@unreal4010 Sure, it was most likely a forced mobilization. However it's not like he's a programmable robot without free will. Nobody can make you go into battle and use that gun. He could have left the country, he could have let them jail him instead or at least he could have just surrendered to Ukr troops. All of these options are worlds better than losing your life in an absolutely crazy and senseless war where on top of it all you actually go and fight against your own son. Of course none of these options are a walk in the park and of course it would mean that you have to stand up for yourself and show courage instead of just swimming with the tide and just naively hoping "yea I'm hopefully not actually gonna fight my son directly", "yea it'll be alright, I'll be one of the lucky ones who'll survive, I'll probably end up just driving a supply truck far from the frontlines"...

What is stopping NATO from putting boots on the ground for tasks such as manning additional Air Defense Systems around Odessa and Kharkiv? Manning the Border with Belarus? That's the thing, though. NATO doesn't actually have a responsibility here, legally or politically, and directly intervening - and going against NATO mandates - carries a significant risk of escalating beyond a nuclear threshold. Because NATO intervention into an ongoing war is generally not how the NATO mandate works if the party in question isn't a member of NATO, and NATO regulations forbid admitting someone currently engaged in a war, and there's not much else to expect when merely entering this specific war in a conventional sense could trigger a nuclear response.
@mountainwest3444
@mountainwest3444 2 ай бұрын
@@Hapless0311 Any country that pushes the "N" Button will recieve a very very bad response. If Russia wanted to send Nukes it could have already countless times in this war. They didn't. They won't. It's simple. 2) I didn't ask about admitting. 3) NATO doesn't enter some one else's war - agreed. But a Rule could be drafted that they can provide defense in extreme circumstances or when it could likely affect a NATO country. This is what we have here.

So... Did I get this right... His Dad fought for Russia?

You got that right. It sounds like he and his mother moved to Ukraine, his father stayed in Russia. I don't want to read just to much into it, but I feel like that's a clue to who his father was. That said, the fact that my father could be an abusive prick didn't make me love him less, so losing your father at 20 is still going to hurt.

You got the point. Though the history in the vid is most likely some script writers imagination the point is important. Thats how they screwed up their whole country. At some point young Ukrainians bought the american dream and denied soviet past as ... not their history, as a mistake. That was a start of the civil war between eastern and western Ukraine. Bcz eastern Ukraine identifies as Russian and accept the soviet path. Thats important. And ofk its not all there is economics in the background. But the points is dont tear pages from your history books. Ever
