Correction: Somaliland is NOT a break away region. Somaliland simply reverted to its 1960 boundaries...these are the colonial boundaries that existed when Somaliland become an independent state in 1960. However, Somaliland hastily formed a union with Somalia in the same year. After almost 30 years of a gunshot marriage between Somaliland and Somalia, Somaliland simply decided to withdraw from the failed union, in 1988. And with or without recognition, it WILL NEVER reunite Somalia.

Intially Turkey and Egypt signed a deal this worried US who had already signed a deal with Somaliland and was planning a base in Berbera port. Until Ethiopia also showed interest renewed interest on Somaliland following the US deal with Somaliland. So it was Somaliland who first had a deal with US who has persuaded them to also recognise Taiwan which angered CHINA but this new US news could change this now which will Increase tension in the region if Somaliland makes move towards China and Russia now.

After that MOU with Somaliland, Somalia started talking about sovereignty and all, but come on. Foreign military bases, including Turkey's & USA's, have been in Somalia for ages. The UAE was already in Somaliland for years yet we heard no opposition. We made that deal with Somaliland fair and square, looking out for our interests there. We were hoping for a better offer but threats, Rly? These moves harm Somalia way more than us because I don't think the Somaliland deal will go through ( just because of the internal opposition in Ethiopia), but these hyenas you've invited won't leave your country easily. I gotta say, Ethiopia's only interest in Somalia and Somaliland is for security and to do business. Remember when we had to deal with the Islamic Courts (which Alshabab was a member of) and Siad Barre? That was all about defending ourselves. We've been working hard to stabilize the region, partnering up with other African countries through AMISOM, and fighting Al-Shabaab. We've been the ones putting in the most effort to keep things together. We are the ones who protected the government and most of the country. It's frustrating how the West uses your hostility towards us to cozy up, even though they're the ones who funded and backed us with the Islamic Courts dismantling in the first place. They're getting rewarded with bases, and we're getting Threats. I'm telling you, it's a risky move to push us away and buddy up with countries that are just gonna use and dump Somalia. Look at Ukraine, man. We need to be smart about foreign influence and exploitation. Africa needs to stick together and watch out for each other. They will leave after they suck you dry but we will always be here. Remember when Siad was so confident in the Russians and invaded us just for them to flip sides. Man, Ethiopia's not backing down, you know? We're fully aware of what the West is up to, especially the USA. Their support for the TPLF and all that? It's all part of a plan to break us apart because we're part of BRICS and tight with China, which pisses them off.
