I called my Congressman twice in the past month, and I wrote to him earlier. He voted “yes” and I think he has voted yes every time aid for Ukraine has come up…..and he’s a republican! But, he’s very quiet and I doubt anyone would recognize him or know his name even though he’s been in Congress for around 25-30 years. I’m pretty sure every congressman in my state, voted yes. Now let’s just hope Senators like Josh Hawley don’t filibuster it in the senate or some shenanigans like that.

I was with the 500-person delegation in Washington DC this week. We came from across the US, led by Razom for Ukraine and American Coalition for Ukraine, with Nova Ukraine, dozens of volunteer groups, and all the KZfaq bloggers. This happened especially because of all of the Americans who called and mailed Congress made the difference. We had a contingent of 3 American moms whose soldier sons died in Ukraine at the front: these courageous women moved hearts of our Congress. Americans, please keep calling the Senate until Tuesday, when the bill will likely get a vote in the Seante. A deep bow to every Ukranian who fights for freedom !!!

It's true that the icons of democracy were grossly imperfect and conflicted. Ancient Greece had slavery and wealthy elites controlled the government as was the case for the US at its birth. Ukraine's past is also imperfect, but their determination in their war of independence is an inspiration to all nations. This will be looked on as one of Ukraine's finest moments as they carry on the vision and ideals of the Maidan revolution. Those countries who dragged their feet with grudging and procrastinated support will be marked in history books for their shameful behaviour.

Agreed 👍earliest/already available munitions should arrive within 48 hours ie 155 mm, himars, javelin,...mixed bag though if it's ATACM S they still have to agree on allow farther reaching munitions which I think popular opinion at this point is trusting Ukraine leadership discretion enough "conditions". Last supply was before 2 ton glide bombs etc...fact that defense ministers in Europe are calling for f16 strikes as deep into RF as possible is telling. Once acknowledge someone is defending themselves while fighting for survival really can't be many of any limitations short of international law set. Bully responds to strength not respect for sure something all of Eastern Europe knows too well be it Georgia,chechnya, Ukraine, Finland few neighbors they haven't attacked. History is so telling especially of patterns but reality is equally important and living in states near Boston it's refreshing people are understanding beyond humanity alone there's no reason not to support cause. money goes to u.s companies and industries while providing arms for well deserved recipient as even isolationist/nationalist types on opposite ideas than mine still realize russia advances or strikes nato nation we are mobilizing ourselves. As an American, I am truly happy that Speaker Johnson finally did the right thing, and delighted to see how quickly the vote yielded a resounding victory for the Democrats. I still remain ashamed of Reps like Empty-Gee, who is in what used to be the party of Reagan, yet will not lift a finger to save people's lives and freedom unless it brings her political gain. These past 7 years are the only time in my 62 years I have been afraid for our freedom and our democratic republic. Many good nations have fallen in exactly the way we have been witnessing right here in the US. My hope came down to the depth of the roots of our democracy and our empathy. I am so relieved this passed today. We have one more step, the senate vote. I have written nonstop to the president, Congress and even some state leaders to pass this bill and continue to support Ukraine with no more delays, ever, until we have beaten back the Russians. This vote could be a turning point in the relationships between Americans. We are weary from fighting each other. We are Americans after all. We have a lot to do and we must do it together. God bless Ukraine and the United States of America.

Excellent, almost 75% of the vote, more than the 70% earlier in the Senate. Shows that a broad strong majority supports US support to ally Ukraine. Yeah, political blocks can exist but can be overcome! Democracy isn't always a smooth ride - Ukraine finds that out too. But this is good, this is a solid and respected decision by a broad base of the American people: the House is "We, The People". Success!!!

As a US citizen, I am very glad that our Congress finally got this through. It took a fight and bipartisan support though. As divided as the US may be politically, I am actually grateful that we have the right to debate such critical issues as this; but I am also proud that we are able to come together when it really matters. That being said, I also wish that the rest of Democratic Europe who have enjoyed prosperity and peace under Democracy, would start doing more. May God bless peace and sanity everywere; and may God bless the brave beautiful country of Ukraine.
