Hey Dawnyale! I wanted to say that it's alright to not know much about guns, we can't know everything about the world 😂 On top of that, it can be nice to be ignorant of something and feel the joy of discovering new things :) I loved this video because other than giving us history tidbits and info, you also played the game so you have an understanding of both reality and gameplay that makes you have fun during the video and then makes you go "yeah that's actually how it went/it didn't really work like that"; lastly it makes your comments much more relatable to the viewers because we played the game just like you and feel the connection! Shotguns have a lot of range and that first shot is very accurate to how a shotgun will work

Video games always under value a shotgun. Hunters shoot 50-100 yards accurately with a shotgun. Games act like anything over 6 feet will miss with a shotgun lol

@@live2die583 And on what ammo suits what gun. I've seen the exact same gun (one singular gun) behave wildly different depending on what shells are going through it, and multiple guns giving wildly different results with the same shells

I am from Brazil(in English so everyone can understand us) as well a software developer unfortunately the talent goes to other countries and don't have investment to create such a game, but I hope one day a game like that on the regent period, or early republic when all that chaos happened would be amazing

0:29 In you're defence that's a common misconception - but they did. Slugs aside, the whole point of the shot expelled from a cartridge is to cover a large area whilst at decent range. It's not made to just cause horrible damage up close. The primary use is for hunting. You want range for that.

I saw an ad from 1890 for a Kodak camera, at a price of 25$, though this camera didn't provide an immediate result, it had to be sent to the factory to have the photo processed and sent back. By the 1890s (the setting of RDR2), photography had advanced enough that it's cost was actually relatively low compared to, for instance, 40-50 years prior. You could probably get a photo taken for less than 2$, which is an equivalent to around 60$ today. MUCH cheaper & faster than a portrait....

When she said that Assault is one of the most common crime in 1899 I am instantly reminded that most of the women that we see in RDR2, especially small towns, are "working girls" or prostitutes. She said that men often journeyed West in search of fortune and leave their families in the East. This creates towns in West Elizabeth like Strawberry and Valentine where there is a disproportionate women to men ration and the women being sex workers who move there for money accompanying these men who are away from their families.

She didn't seem to think Arthur jumping 100ft into the air at 8:07 was anything out of the ordinary, so i'm just gonna assume that was perfectly historically accurate. Today's athletes really just aren't trying hard enough. Jokes aside, she was great. Very interesting to listen to! 😊

Winchester rifle is being used but also a slug shot has range b/c there are lighter pellets and there is more pellets. Also the barrel of the shotgun has to be longer to get more range.

Don't know if she points this out, but its acatually women who started civilization in the West. Since these men were alone out there, they gone a long time never seeing a women, so women would come and chanrge them for "Things" (You can figure that part out). Eventualy, they created brothels, and then soon more buildings were built around them. Its unfortinutely not talked much about since now the average person things of the wild west as the hollywood version, when in reality, it was mostly just used as farmland for cows, and oil.
