Michele Z seles never dominated steffi graf. Sabatini did. Monica became number 1 in 91. In 91 steffi beat monica both times they met. 2-0 for steffi. In 92, it was 1-1. Monica beat steffi 10-8 in the third set in french final, steffi killed monica in wimbledon final 6-2 6-1 In 93, monica beat steffi 3 sets in australian open final. Monica got stabbed. So yeah contrary to popular beliefs, monica never dominated steffi. It was pretty even. Monica did get the number 1 ranking because steffi kept losing to sabatini, plus couple losses to novotna & sanchez... Monica had a chance to prove herself after coming back and she failed. Petra kvitova had worst attack on her, her playing hand her left hand was destroyed. she got back up and got into the best shape of her life. Monica didnt. Simple.

Monica seles is so overrated, she had a couple decent years before hamburg but thats it. People say oh she was stabbed she was never the same, physically their was no reason she couldnt have recovered and carried on. Psychologically, was tougher but again i think she milked it. She was never the fittest & i think she used hamburg to excuse the fact that she had eating problems long before hamburg. Instead people excused her and demonised steffi who literally did nothing. Mental strength is the most important criteria in tennis and this was Monica's biggest weapon and the reason, why she won many major titles in a short time and made the deciding points against Graf! She was never famous for her remarkable fitness, even before the incident. Yes, she didn't win Wimbledon and her amazing game style hasn't peaked yet! She's still learning and improving! It's impressive reaching the Wimbledon final for a player who doesn't like to play on grass!
