My sister is a grade school teacher, and my sister is a horrible person. I feel sorry for the kids who come in contact with her. But, she managed to retire after 30 years. So had no business being around kids. This is what happens when you don't pay enough....you get some bad apples, clinging on. There is a decline in students. California is down over 500k students in the last few years. People can't afford to have kids and the ones that can are putting their kids in private school here. Districts get funding per student and after the temporary covid grants expire, they have to adjust back to prepandamic spending + less students.

An illegal student enters the school and receives one-on-one instruction from multiple teaching staff, SPED programs, and counselors. While the children who need one one-on-one instruction are pushed to the side due to not enough staff. Districts are letting this happen ofcouse because they receive extra funding for every illegal student they take in.
