The chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) has applied for arrest warrants against Israeli government officials and Hamas leaders for alleged war crimes. ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan is seeking arrest warrants for five men from both sides, including both Prime Minister Netanyahu and Hamas chief Yahya Sinwar, for alleged crimes committed during the October 7 attack on Israel and Israel’s subsequent war on Gaza. The move has sparked a global backlash. PM Netanyahu denounced the decision as targeting all Israelis, while Hamas claimed the ICC was equating victims with executioners. The Palestine Liberation Organisation accused the ICC of double standards. The United States has slammed the decision, with President Biden asserting that there is no equivalence between Israel and Hamas and the US Senate accusing the ICC of bias against Israel. European nations were divided, with Germany and Austria objecting to equating Hamas with Israel, while Belgium supported prosecuting Gaza crimes "regardless of perpetrators.".

they don't really care about that specific individual. rather, what they do fear is that such events are beginning to become a standard and norm...hence, it is highly probable that they too will be put under arrest in the near future for the crimes that they are responsible in committing. it is the precedent being set that irks them, ie high officials who thought of themselves as untouchable being charged.

May 9-13, 2023: 1,469 rockets and mortar shells fired at Israel, primarily the Palestinian Islamic Jihadis. 131 landed in Israeli territory, 291 landed in the Gaza Strip, and 39 fell into the sea. Two people were killed in Israel and several dozen were wounded; extensive property damage was reported. 1,500,000 Israelis were affected by the attacks.
