As someone who loves tasting new food, I find that vegetables are so underrated in certain places (or maybe people are just unlucky and it's just hard to plant certain things due to the climate in the region). So many veggies exist, and thus soooo many new flavour and textures to explore! I'm a Brazilian myself, so we sure have a lot of locally produced veggies and fruits all year, but I sure did learn a lot from reading about Mexican, Indian, Japanese and Chinese cuisine.

Finland also has wraps and sweet curry saunce, that is actually my favourite for the nuggets. Like in the UK, in Finland the ingredients are available and most even have country of origin. For example the origin for salt is Finland, bread and most vegetables are from Finland, or if not available in the winter, it is taken from another European country and processed in Finland. Eggs are Finnish and always free range. Cheese is German, beef is Italian, Chicken is Danish, and nugget sizes are 4,6,9,20.

We occasionally have those shake bags for the fries here in Sweden too. Toss the fries in the bag, empty the little spice bag into it, and shake. Spicy fries! Yay! Sweden also has a fries story like the Indian one. When McDonald's came to Sweden, fries were short, thick and wavy, and nobody could provide them with long, thin, and straight fries. But they found a local farmer who produced big potatoes, so they bought a few tons of him, and then the CEO and all the McDonald's management spent their entire nights in the basement of the restaurant, cutting the potatoes into fries by hand so they would have fries to serve the next day. McDonald's was a success, and when they ran out of potatoes there were lots of suppliers that could deliver the right kind of fries to McDonald's! Oh, and I was in Japan in 2016. Yes, McDonald's there (I was in Kyoto) was a special thing. Those Japanese sure love their teriyaki, most burgers had a teriyaki option. But why e surprised that such a fascinating country has fascinating McDonald's!

I would imagine it's very hard to source enough of some products in Japan, because land for agriculture is very limited. Out of all of the options, I would choose the Japanese McDonalds. purely because they are in Japan, but I would have to try a Fakkin burger first (it used to be Wendy's).

The Quarter Pounder exists in almost every country besides America, but only America calls it the Quarter Pounder. 26:00 -- McDonalds does its best to use Local ingredients - when they meet the Local and particularly the Government Food Standards. Unfortunately - U.S. food standards are way below that of Australia - Australia's BEST beef is exported to the Middle East - where they are prepared to pay a high price. The lowest-grade meat is exported to China. Locally we have what is in the Middle range which is affordable for most people. Some butchers have the high-grade best quality beef -- however - the price is frightening

I know a restaurant with a "My wife is not hungry" option for dishes that come with loose stuff, like french fries or nuggets. The "My wife is not hungry" option cost 3 to 5 CHF (swiss franc) and they add approx 50% more fries/nuggets. Because wives seem to never be hungry when food is ordered but then can't leave the finger off the plate of their guy. 😛

The menu includes local "style" food, like no beef in India, but to make some of their staple items they will import. Obviously locally grown items are easier to get and cheaper that imported... but not all countries have the ability to produce all the ingredients. Japan is... very populated, so beef that need a large area to produce would not be a big industry. Also some governments have "local" requirements for industries like food. Still, I think I like the non-US menus more so... I might need to travel and taste some... someday.

It's especially weird that they don't use produce for their burgers made in Japan. Japan can produce a lot of different ingredients locally. Maybe it's too expensive? I know that in Denmark we produce a lot of the ingredients locally. If I were to guess, things not produced locally are mostly spices. One reason to use local produce in Denmark is that were pretty stringent with quality. So any produce made here has already been through that process. If we were to get it from abroad they'd have to go through a lot to be accepted.

Compare an elevation map of Japan with Denmark. They simply have very little land for agriculture because it's all mountainous area. That's why they have so much sea food in their traditional diet. Japan imports over half of all their food nowadays. It has nothing to do with mc donald's.
@AtotehZ
@AtotehZ Жыл бұрын
@@jbird4478 I think you misread something :) I never said it was about McDonald's. That's just the example given here. Japan uses 45.35k km^3 for agriculture with 125M ppl. Denmark uses 28.15k km^3 with 6M ppl. Japan IS reducing the area they use for agriculture over the years though. They could have a bit over double the amount they do. So it's most likely due to politics as well.

I don't quite get it.. I live in UK, and what you can get here is much, much more than what was shown in the video. I think quarter pounders are even permanently on menu? Cause I've been getting them for 3 years which is the exact time I moved here. I tend to get mcchicken sandwich and chicken mayo ones all the time too, so I don't know why these weren't shown either. Every time I go to mcdonalds, there's at least 15 different burger options not including limited edition ones. Of course we have milkshakes, teas and coffee options. There are actually 5 dipping sauces. There are salads, icecream and cookies too.. It seems as if they were showing the full menu from the other countries, so I'm a bit shocked they shown like just a few options in UK ones.. Am I missing something? And again, I'm not from the UK, I moved there more than 3 years ago now, and I go there from time to time, and standard menu there never looked half as poorly XDD. Idk when that video was made, but it would be hard to believe they suddenly from like 4 options of burgers went to 20 from one year to another. Btw, I'm from Nottingham. Idk if that changes anything :V

Here in India, people prefer street food and local fast food shop over these giant food chains like McDonald's, KFC, Dominos etc. Street food in India is very popular and it's more tasty compared to food chain restaurants. Also it's quite cheap, for ex. 1 Chicken Maharaja Mac is about 200 rupees. In 200 rupees you can have a full meal in India. Also almost 4 people can eat at 200 rupees in a street food stall.

I really didn't think so much content could be made about MCD of all places. ( Not your reaction videos, but that so many videos have been made about it ) Actual Important information about MCD. 1: They use forced labor to work for them, by using the corrupt American prison system having prisoners being forced to do work for cents. 2: There food in the US is filled with much more sugar and other things, than the rest of the world. For no good reason. 3: They will only do the bare minimum for there workers. Like in the US, little to no rewards, and very low wages. Elsewhere they pay as little as possible to, however laws are better so the pay is better. 4: Worlds biggest fast food restaurant. What you get is not good. However it has been researched to trigger things in your brain so you want it. Same way with Smoking or doing drugs. 5: A few years old, but the UK MCD was rated the worst in Europe. I think that is pretty much the interesting facts there is about MCD. Learning about different regions specials can also have some meaning though. Do find it funny the original video make the American one light green to who have the biggest amounts. I am not sure that is really a win. Fun way to highlight it. Almost like. What police force kills most people, The USA, Ding Ding Ding we have a winner.. :p And on a site note. Ofc I do not know if they contain the same things. Gotta say....the Shrimp burger sounds absolutely amazing 🤩 On another note, obviously India is not going to have Beef or Pork products due to religious beliefs. This limits food choices to mainly Chicken and many vegetables. Why doesn’t McDonald’s use Lamb, Venison, Turkey or Duck in its range for India. Or even the rest of us for that matter, a Lamb MAC sounds delicious 😋

@@HailHeidi no, it was invented by an Indian chief using Indian ingredients. British food is so blend, they don't even have proper spices for making tikka masala, as 75% spices of the world along come from India

No. The original is indian, India was part of the British Empire, that is the reason English people had "curry". It's not "national dish". Curry is from India, all these spices is from India.

@@eloisavaladares7138 tikka masala was made in Scotland, maybe do research before making yourself look stupid....curry or gravy is Indian but tikka masala is British and it has taken over fish and chips as the national dish....
