Dear Sir Wish you could have continued at IISc. Most of your videos are highly informative. Many of us are getting educated about Postdocs, master degrees, PhDs etc. In summary can i conclude based on the current scenario its better to stay in homeland than to think about US?

Hello Dr. Ganguli, what can a PhD student do in a US university if the program only provides stiped for Fall and Spring? When I asked a faculty member they said that student mostly go for internships. My question is what if one does not get internship? What are the options to get some pay during the Summer?

Well mostly in such cases internship or part time jobs in the campus are the options. Sometimes one can get options with other researchers in some centers etc. Some even return home during this time rather than spend money in staying. Internships abroad may also be possible. @Drganguli It will be interesting to know where did you work in France, because I did my PhD in ENS Cachan (now called ENS Paris Saclay) and now I am a postdoc in Lille, also in France. I will be extremely happy to meet you in person if you ever happen to visit France. Probably I can take you to the best Bengali biriyani place in Paris!
