Alien 1979 Nostromo built from scratch. Since Alien came out in 1979, it has been my favorite Sci-Fi movie to this day. I have always considered the Nostromo one of the most mysterious and awesome ships in Science Fiction films. As a kid I never could own the Nostromo and now it's very expensive and difficult to find. 40 years later, I decided to build my version from scratch. It took a whole year. I worked on it only when I had free time, but documented when I could. This is a photo-montage of the project at 5 second frames. My very first video ever.

A true masterpiece. The Nostromo is the best spaceship ever made, because it wasn't pretty, which is why it is gorgeous. It's a flying brick sh!thouse and is all the better for it. Why most spaceships fail to be iconic is because they are designed to fly through the air, not the vacuum of space. They even got it right with the escape pod being aerodynamic while the rest of the ship isn't, the ship isn't rated to "fly" in atmosphere, but the pod is. More spacecraft need to be designed with the idea that they will never have to think of airflow. This is amazing to see and wonderful to watch you build.

Still binge watch all the Aliens films on dvd mow and again. The still have it, the tension, and whats going to happen next. I`ve seen these film dozens of times! Bet you have a jacket with the crew patch on it. Stunning build.

I bought the Halcyon's Nostromo resin kit around 20 years ago. It is still in the box, waiting to be mounted. Your Nostromo is even more detailed than Halcyon's kit. It is second to none. You have amazing skills and this video is a pleasure to watch. Thanks for sharing.

I think this is the best form of Maker video, superb editing and filming. You have climbed a not insignificant personal mountain; no expensive injection molded kit would compare with either the artisan experience or the 3D beauty of the finish. This should be recommended viewing for all modelers. I applaud the 'up-cycling', there is so much waste plastic - no 3D printing required. Your fascination shows in every frame. Spectacular. I once built a 'cardboard city' for a bookshop window display - it demonstrated principle architectural styles and periods, at the top of one of the buildings, I put the unfinished architects garret, with one window. The model ended up at a Special-Needs school, where (I was told) a child who had not been engaged by anything before - took one look and 'flipped'. - Christchurch, New Zealand

The feet! Dude! Them little cheap stick on cable tie holders! Genius! You know, they would be perfect for scratch built 1999 Eagle feet. You should look up “Cut Transform Flue”. He scratch builds in the same way.

After one look at your Nostromo and I almost didn’t watch the video I was so scared!!!! No telling when an Alien would jump out and bite me on the ass! 😂 I gave it a 👍🏻 to ward off those meanies! 🤣😂. Very good model. Ever think of making them for the movies. I hear it pays well!

Yeah, I would have been into this for about 45 minutes and picked up my crutches; Inkscape, Visio, LASER and Cameo. You did this 100% by hand. 3000 some odd cut tiles? It’s like building every tile on the belly of a Space Shuttle by hand! I am humbled, truly humbled.

Wow, it’s nice to come across a video like that! at a time when everyone is using 3D printing. One thing i found really interesting is that the ship isn't symmetrical. It's actually built unevenly. And you were able to recreate that perfectly.

This ship is the modified version of the Lockmart CM-88B Bison, manufactured by Lock-Mart Industries... You would have saved yourself a lot of time if you had simply asked the factory for the build scheme of the ship 😉... But hey, anyway It's excellent work☺ __
