Use the secrets of Disco music to learn how to break the rules of any Minor Scale !

Make your music richer, more original and broaden your musical palette forever. The standard minor scale contains 7 notes. Let me show you how you can use all 12 notes in your music by showing you where and when you can break the rules.
This video started off as a tutorial for our latest release - F9 TRAX Electric DIsco II. By the time I'd finished it I was amazed that I'd included the use all 12 notes we use today - I had no idea that Disco could be used to explain how and when this is possible
I'm not classically trained and have learnt all of this over several decades - This video will only briefly dip into the theory of music and is 100% practical - Absolutely no musical scoring is used. I use the commonly used A minor scale here ( all the white notes ) to make it easy to show you when the tricks start.
The video starts off with the basics ( that may be a recap for many of you ) but please watch all the way as the ideas at the front are used all the way through.
I truly hope this sends you off in a brand new series of directions - I only wish KZfaq was around when I started - It would have saved me more than 25 years of learning this stuff piece by piece

You can now use TRAX instruments to make sample packs
It's with great pride we announce that effective from June 1, 2023, all F9 playable instruments and kits have been granted license for usage in the development of audio loops. These loops can be included in commercial sample packs designed for your personal use, your individual sampler store, or for third-party platforms such as Loopcloud, Splice, Arcade, NI sounds and more. There's only one restriction to bear in mind: the midi. When creating for these releases, you must compose original musical or rhythmic parts and avoid using any midi or musical motifs from this or any other F9 release.
This updated licensing term now encompasses stem creation and "track-outs," which are frequently seen in beat marketplaces. It also applies to ghost production and collaborative projects. Our goal is to provide you with even greater flexibility and creative potential in your music production endeavours.

Raising the F to the F# in this A minor example changes the scale to the A Dorian mode. Modulating the scale of your chord progression into the occasional Mode is what adds the spice. For those of you who don't know, Modes are the in-between scales. One of them sounds ultra minor (used a lot in heavy metal), the regular minor which you know, another is minorish. Another is majorish. The regular major which you know and there is another that is ultra major (used a lot in classical and movie soundtracks). And there is the last one that hardly anybody uses because it just sounds too weird.

Many thanks for this and your lovely reply and I didn't expect it tbh on my post the other day, I had an accident when I was 16 and my tendons and nerve were cut on my right hand, i am left handed so did not make too much fuss, but keyboard skills were a bit truncated, they reconnected my tendons and nerve but me pinky and next finger don't work as expected. Noticed on the video not much pinky work lol, so i am going have a go at learning the shizzle. Mousse T verbage lol.
