In today’s video I’ll be showing you how to build an amazingly efficient RPK, using the power of the barters at Mechanic level 2. Even though we don’t want to use the guns themselves, the parts that are contained within these weapons can be of extremely high value, and the first one we’ll be showing is the M870 Breacher.
Although the shotgun is not great, it comes with an RVG Black foregrip, an MOE Carbine stock plus buttpad, as well as a nice holographic. For the cost of just a powerbank and a weapons part, this one is extremely good value!
The second barter is the 2x prokills for a Sopmod M4. This one isn’t quite as powerful, but you can still snag Elcan scopes and again MOE Carbines on the cheap, especially if you can get the ingredients in at a good price on the flea market.

I honestly think the RPK is one of the most slept on guns in the game, they’re cheap, and efficient for the price, it’s the MDR of the AK world

Agreed, the only reason I don't use it more is the weapon levelling. If they moved the RPK skills leveling into the AR skill, I'd use it way more.

@@goyujesse I wanted to focus on the RFB this Wipe, but with the M80 changes that go out of the Window. Iam close to lvl 20 right now, so maybe i just nonstop use the RPK from now on. Or is the Gun just bad later on?

Dude I absolutely love your videos. This is my first wipe playing tarkov and you have helped me so much. Would you consider making a best loadout for each gun? Even the underdog guns considered bad. I think a "highest potential" series for all guns would be really neat. Either way, I really appreciate you!!

Welcome to tarkov. But there is no best. Best is like 300-500k build so it’s not the best of what you want is value. That’s the beauty of tarkov

@@ktg_2castle960 agree, what's "best" in Tarkov will depend on a lot of factors and will often end up being subjective to each player. That this game has the level of depth and complexity to allow that is awesome.

You can also get a cheap ak grip from skier 2 these days for only about 8k that grants +12 ergo its the Tangodown Battle Grip. Very good value part.

PRO TIP: You can get PWS muzzle at level 15 from Flea market easily. People sell SAG carbine 'short' for about 50k+ with the PWS attachment still on. That way you get the 20k muzzle for only 5k as you can immediately sell the gun to mechanic for 45k.

you can get it around ~40-45k on flea and even with basic mods it have better stats that any similar AK74N build for the same price. My mods on RPK are only: RVG,PWS,SAW, DS150 and kobra scope. 74,5 ergo (with m3 mags) and 55 recoil. Awesome gun.

Glad I stocked up on RPKs before you made this! I saw them dip as low as 35K and bought several. thankfully I think I have enough to last before the hype dies down. I can confirm it's a fantastic build!

Keep up the rate of uploads, all beneficial information. Suggestion for a video would be the most efficient uses of USD and Euros early in the wipe, say level 2 traders or less. I'm currently sitting on 10k+ USD and am unsure what I should buy with it, if anything.

More of a quick one that - USD you'll use eventually in the modules or directly with PK, EUR same but you can temporarily get rid of it once you reach wifi cameras and crafting nixxor lenses!

In the firing range you can just hit ESC to "leave" the shooting range then jus tinteract again to refresh, don't need to like step all the way back then walk closer

its always faster to pull your gun up and look through sight it you do it from a sprint vs walking or standing still, even if you only sprint for one step. most noticeable in low ergo guns. could you test this?

Have you tried the MP7s with with subsonic ammo this wipe? I tried the MP7A2 with a suppressor, SI Cobra grip and a PK-06 and it slapped.

Put the akmp night sight adapter on the rpk and you get THE BEST iron sights in the game. No holo needed.

Is the RPK the only LMG in the game? Seems kinda weird to have a stat in the game for literally one gun Then again the revolver skill was in the game for years before they added the Rhino, so I dunno

I heard talk of a PKM/PKP being added soon (which is technically a MMG), can only imagine they'll introduce a NATO variant of it aswell, the M249 or the FN Minimi likely. The caliber difference would require some balancing between them (PKM 7.62x54mmR same as mosin vs M249 and Minimi 5.56mm). If they add a medium machine gun class for the PKM to sit in they might add an M240 to the same class as they are both 7.62. An early game adoption of an LMG could be the MG3. As as middle point between high ergo ARs and what I can only assume would be non-existing ergo on a PKM for balancing, they could add the DP-28 or the RPD (BSG has tweeted about it in the past) in the LMG class.

"Use only available parts" in the top right while assembling weapons will limit the selections to what you have available in your stash.

With a bit of luck and timing, you can replace the DTK-1 with a better muzzle at little extra cost. SAG AK-545 shorts are often sold with the AK-74 PWS CQB 74 545x39 muzzle brake. The price here is often around 45-60k. If you remove the muzzle, you can still sell the AK-545 Short for about 43k at Mechanic. Means you get the best muzzle the RPK can get for 2-15k. You lose compared to the DTK-1 2 Ergo, but you compensate for this by installing the handle of the AK-545 Short, the AK-EPG also on the RPK. So you reduce the vert recoil by -4 and the horizontal recoil by -11 and only lose 0.5 Egro at a very small additional money cost. Of course, this is associated with a bit of luck and the offers are not always that good. But I've been able to upgrade my RPK or AK-74N so many times that I think it's worth a look.

I have been testing 5.45 US ammo too shit pen at around 18 the damage is ok around 56 or something like that. But gives you -25 recoil, it's just crazy the first bullet kicks up slightly then smooth. It's good leg meta ammo for sure been buying the RPk on the flea for 40k easily one of the best guns in the game.

Something about the RPK, any other rifle with 75 recoil compare to a RPk with 75 recoil. RPK feels way better and way less recoil. I love this gun my self. But I’m still too poor to this as I rather spend the money on better armor and big backpack.

RPK is shit, bc it levels machine gun skill instead of assault rifle, you get no benefit for any other gun than itself. Better off doing the barter for the parts and chucking it on an m4 or something

This rpk is absolute dogshit....unless you are using the terrible ammo that reduces recoil this gun is pure shit. Made a longbarrel/expensive/meta rpk the other day and was crouching when I started my spray an the gun still went straight to the sky
