Save your hands and get the right thrust ratio caulking gun!
Higher number ratio = easier to squeeze. In cold weather or thick sealants, an 18:1 or higher is a huge help. Even on sealants that flow well, a thrust ratio higher than 12:1 requires notably less effort.
The tradeoff is less volume is extruded with each squeeze, so you won’t be able to drag the bead as far compared to a lower ratio gun. However, this can also be a benefit when you want super precise control over volume and okay with going slower (how I caulk).
These guns are from @albioneng, who has a dispensing solution for basically any sealant or situation you can think of. We’ve been using their guns for over a year now, and definitely won’t be going back to the cheap Amazon special we had 😂

I would be investing in a battery powered caulking gun. I hear Milwaukee makes a great one.

It's the best $130 you can spend if you have a house or more to seal up, especially if you are already on the battery platform for other red tools. All of the battery guns are superior to carpal tunnel.

All my tools are Makita so I bought the Makita 18V a few years ago. Not only is your hand still working at the and of a day but also is the output very consistent. That is very handy for finishing jobs.

I have tendonitis from all my computer work so a bought an affordable Ryobi battery operated caulk gun. It has a little lag, but great tor doing long runs and you can adjust the rate. I got mine for about $60, a lot cheaper than a Milwaukee. Already had the batteries.

Why are you even using a cartridge gun in the first place? A sausage gun will lay thousands of feet with hardly any effort and you get way more material per sausage ……
