IMJOSHV - Car Detailing and Reconditioning Tips

I was at my local Costco and came across the Dremel Versa Tool. This kit was on sale from $49.99 to $39.99 and includes the dremel versa power scrubbing unit and multiple accessories including brushes and scrub pads. I picked one up to see if this could be a useful tool for car detailing, around the house, and just general cleaning usage. Although i think this is a decent little tool, I would prefer using a Drill Brush kit for the added flexibility and more robust build quality... ENJOY!!!

I always wanted to buy one for cleaning the headliner, Polishing interior, etc. It's light weight so holding your arm above your head might not burn as bad. IDK?

The details in the instructions state that the tool is designed to turn off if too much pressure is applied. The spinning brush does the work, not pressure. Pressure bends the bristles so the tips don't make as much contact.

This is Excellent for prep work on my die-cast customs for the price. I know wasn't your target purpose, but great for hobbyists.

Loving the video Josh Was wondering, would you be able to do a video about how to maintain your detailing equipment and how to store it away especially during the winter e.g draining pressure washer, hoses etc and putting them away to avoid them freezing up and basically any other equipment that will get effected by the winter temperatures

Does it come with, or can you get an attachment to use for polishing out scratches on the plastic covering the instrument clusters?

Why would you even put pressure on it? It is not a drill. The brush will do the cleaning by spinning and not by pushing down.

I guess it would be good for shower tile cleaning using a cleaning fluid so it does not bog down?

I recently got a drill brush but was annoyed at the splashing. I think I am going to use a sheet of Kydex plastic and make a custom shroud for my drill. Kydex is easy to bend with a heat gun. 3M Dual Lock is similar to Velcro but great for rigid surfaces. A bit of that on the drill and on the Kydex so I can pull the shroud on and off.

as a home cleaner im thinking of going all out and using the rupes hlr75 battery one to offer to clean hard warwe spots and marble and granite cleaning, is that overkill? thanks

Bought one from Costco for $29.97, which meant it is on clearance and it might be the last one. Have not used it, just do not like the micr-USB.

why didn't you tell everybody this this product doesn't come with a charging adapter? I was kind of pissed when I found out that the instructions say only use the Dremel charging adapter and I can't actually buy that at Costco or Lowe's or anywhere. I have to order it from dremel so technically you're not supposed to charge it with anything except the dremel power supply adaptor, which is not supplied.

I like dremel tools so I was hoping it did well, could you use a better pad and just apply wax to a car? Just curious, thanks Josh 👍😁

Hey Dave. Same goes for me, i think dremel makes great stuff i think this one is just a big more guided to basic use. For applying wax, I would use something else for a few reasons. 1. The backing plate is small so it would take forever.. could work for smaller areas though. 2. its a rotary style, i orefer a dual action to avoid an holograms. 3. no control over speed... its either on or off

Just get a 10-in orbital polisher that's what you want to do that thing's so small if you get a 10 inch orbital polisher it would go faster

As soon as you showed all the threads we're plastic, it was a no. Then on top of that it's not powerful unless you are the Hulk. Thank you for the information, super helpful

An average woman would not be able to comfortably use the drill brush due to its weight. So perhaps this particular Dremel was aimed at women or people who do not have the strength in their hand, arm, and wrist to use heavier power tools.

That’s a good point it is much lighter and more comfortable in the hand to use than a drill brush

Thank you so much for reviewing this product. I just bought it yesterday from Costco and planned on doing a little buffing on restored furniture. I have never heard of drill brush. I am definitely going to look it up. Thank you for that information. Disappointed and Dremel what a waste when someone needs to scrub something at home you have to have a little elbow grease and if the product doesn’t allow it, it’s worthless. Next trip to Costco this Dremel will be going back. Have a great day. 😊

It's a waste of money, charge doesn't last, can't use it while charging while plugged in to charge it only uses the power that's in the battery. Save up and get something better.

Wait till you are much older or have weak hands and need to clean. Drill is too heavy and awkward.

Yea i think its meant for at home smaller jobs where battery life isnt as much of an issue. But for anything longer, i think the drill brushes would be a great alternative
