The way he watches her is so cute. He's been impressed with her from their very first meeting when she helped save her own life from the pirates. Every encounter with her has been an eye opener for him. Now he's married to her/she isn't like his concubines at all. She doesn't pay him any attention. She isn't fighting to gain his favor. She doesn't care about his status. He doesn't know what to make of her at this point. He's pretty good husband's material. I love the way he helped her out of the wagon. They didn't have the best start but he's a real gentleman. Unfortunately she has to deal with her dysfunctional family. Madame Luo has been a pain in the butt since she was a little girl. She's still trying to control her life. She wants her to get a foot hole inside the Xu family so badly but Shiyi doesn't care about establishing herself. She only cares about finding her mother's killer. The family dinner is painful to watch. They're trying hard to put on a brave face/acting as though they're one big happy family. Erniang is a troublemaker. She really wants Shiyi to be miserable because she's miserable. I guess misery loves company. Shiyi is lucky to have Lingyi in her corner. When he spoke up for her...the shocked expression on her face said...a lot.
