Isn't it so obvious that he doesn't want a commitment to one particular person? It's abt time that she decides whether to remain a spare tire to him or give up on him completely, considering that she spent a lot of her prime years with him hoping that he'll be sincere to her. Right now the guy only spends money in exchange for her affection, which is not equivalent to honest feelings.

Would be more fair for his speech at the end if he said he'd build up a "safety net" account of some sort for her, like a 401k/pension type of thing. Otherwise, how can he claim that the non-marriage is not for financial reason? Yes, you can get a prenup but at that time at least the girl knows how much she'd get if they separated. If that's the lifestyle he wants, he should be fair to the girl.
