Yes, Zhaoying is adorable but very honest. He noticed the difference in the Marquis's behavior since Shiyi married into the family. When you ask a question you have to be ready for the answer. I don't think he was ready for the truth...lol

@@shontelagrone8713 Agreed, but I'm seeing this with a new perspective after seeing for the 239739th time 🤣...that maybe Zhaoying's innocent reference is to mean he is looking at himself with new eyes. When Shiyi compliments is physique, comments on his involvement and parenting and other familial relationships (his brother) he's literally reflecting on her words and seeing her points and he's mirroring her stance. That old adage that the woman makes the man is so true in this instance. As he was so resistant to his mother and other wives, to the point of staying away for work, is because they didn't _see_ him as a man with thoughts and feelings but just his title and status and what that means for them and the Xu family.

This is the very moment where the great Madam/Lianfang should realize that she doesn't stand a chance. He has already given his heart to Shiyi. They're deceiving themselves if they think she ever going to get pregnant. He hasn't touch her at all not even on their wedding night...lol He's finally coming to the realization that his love for Shiyi has changed him. Everyone in the Xu family with eyes and no ulterior motives can see that Shiyi marrying into the family has made Lingyi happy.

I think by now Great Madam is distancing herself from Concubine Qiao. First sign she wanted to laugh when the princess Danyang was insulting Concubine Qiao. I think by now Great Madam is coming to the conclusion that Shiyi is good for Zhun and Lingyi.

No, I don't think so just yet, I believe she's embarrassed for her because of Danyang's status, as both a Princess and a primary wife, she can't argue and she knows she putting Con. Qiao in an awkward conversation to put her in her place. GM holds Con. Qiao in high regard but nothing she values in her is making his lordship fall for her...and Danyang is reiterating that she's unable to please her husband and do her wifely (even as a secondary) to provide children and serve the husband properly.

He finally had someone that actually cared about his well being rather than trying to use him for personal again. Even his mother didn't care about his happiness. It took Shiyi to breath life into him/he became a better father, brother and son.
