Love it, Danyang pelting shade at Lianfang was priceless. She wasn't shy about her words either and there was nothing the concubine could do other than swallow an extremely bitter pill.

Serves her right. She wanted to harm shiyi by using Danyang. She planned so that Danyang could fall.. which is dangerous, she could have list her baby. Lianfang had no qualms in killing. She did that with Shiyi sister. Not only the sister she cause the narquis to loose another child. Such and evil woman. The mother in law also another one. So stupid and blind with her prejudices

Lianfang made an enemy out of Danyang when she tried to harm her....lol Her efforts to harm Danyang didn't work because Shiyi stepped in/save the day. Now Danyang is out for blood. She's taking every opportunity to remind Lianfang that Lingyi doesn't give her the time of day...lol She just told her in a roundabout way that she will never have to worry about having a baby because Lingyi will never touch you...lol Zhun running in/telling everyone how much influence that Shiyi has over his father is priceless. Another virtual slap to Lianfang's face/I'm loving it. Danyang/Lingkuan both see just how much he has changed since marrying Shiyi. They know how much Shiyi has helped the family. I love it. Every time Lianfang is reminded that Lingyi doesn't like her I'm happy. She's caused so many problems because of her obsession so whenever she's reminded that he doesn't give a damn about her it makes me all giddy inside. Lingyi gave Lianfang another slap to the face when he told them that Shiyi is one of the reasons he's changed his mind about Zhun learning opera. Three virtual slaps in one sitting has to be painful....lol First Danyang reminded her that Lingyi has never touched her. Then Zhun reminds her how much Lingyi values Shiyi's opinions. The final blow comes for the man himself when he tells all of them how Shiyi's influence has changed him.... Lianfang doesn't stand a chance in hell of winning this battle.

Danyang enjoys his privileged position. I was glad when I saw the look on GM's face. Zhun honey, I wanted to kiss him when he began to tell how dad obeys mom and never gets angry with her. You are right, a few virtual ones have been added to Lianfang's real slap in the face. I experience moral satisfaction from this. I couldn’t stop smiling as Shiyi and Dong Qing discussed Lingyi’s “weird” behavior. Shiyi (holy naivete): "Tired at work."…lol I understand why Lingyi was frightened when he realized the extent of his feelings. I felt sincerely sorry for him, because he lived for so many years surrounded by a crowd of women, and not one of them was able to awaken his feelings. He'd been wearing the armor of "insensibility" for so long, and it turned out that Shiyi had taken it all off him without even trying. It's good that General Fu is by his side and lets him know that there is nothing wrong or wrong with his feelings.

@@Irynash11 Yes, Zhun running in telling them how much his dad listens to his mother was everything. Even the GM looked confused...lol She wasn't expecting Lingyi to develop feelings for Shiyi. She tried everything she could to make him fall in love with Lianfang to no avail. Now Zhun is telling her how much his father listens to his mother. LIngkuan didn't make it any better when he told Danyang that Shiyi was his weakness. The GM hurried up and dismissed them to protect Lianfang's feelings. It was very satisfying watching both of those women squirming at the knowledge that he has Shiyi in his heart. All the plotting/scheming meant absolutely nothing because he's made his choice. Yes, I really felt so bad for him. He spent all that time under the same roof as all of those women/he was totally devoid of emotions. They didn't try to understand him. They didn't try to ease his burden. They didn't know how to love him. His mother did him a great disservice by ignoring his feelings. She didn't understand her own son. She certainly didn't care what he wanted...if she did then he wouldn't have been saddled with Lianfang. He found his heart when he married Shiyi. General Fu was the right person for him to talk to about his uneasy feeling. He hit the nail on the head when he told him that everything that he's experiencing started after he married Shiyi. She played a very significant role in his life.

I agree, GM and Lianfang are very funny. The entire female collective used sex as a weapon to manipulate him so often that they didn’t even notice that he had long ago knocked it out of their hands. And he's not going to give it into their hands again, especially Lianfang. The only woman with whom he is ready to spend time and who he wants is his wife. But it's not so easy with Shiyi. True, there is one small bonus, for Shiyi it will never be a weapon - so she is worth the effort he puts in.

lol...exactly...he wouldn't touch her if somebody paid him. He sees through her act...so she has no chance whatsoever...all the plotting in the world won't change that fact.

Yes, and they didn't disappoint. Danyang, Zhun and Lingyi were on fire...even Lingkuan got his little shade in about Shiyi being his weakness. I was so satisfied especially seeing Lianfang's reaction.

In the beginning I did actually feel sorry for Lianfang she was so besotted with his lordship that she would have done everything she could to get him. She would not have had to marry him even though she was set up her status nothing would have been done. The only people who knew about it were his late wife him and Lianfang. Lowering herself to be a concubine that is all on her. He told his mother he didn't like her he would never love her and even said to her the very same thing. He says he is not a good husband because for me I don't think he liked having concubines either he just wanted one who would love and support him. If on your wedding night he refuses to stay with you avoids all of your attempts to be with him then girl you have more chance of having a relationship with the man in the moon. The slow burn with Shiyi was perfection for me. People forget she was 15 years old when she herself was hoodwinked into marrying him. A woman with a kind and calm disposition was always going to win his heart. It is one of my favourite shows up there with Love Like The Galaxy.
