I wish that I had gotten to see this video when I was a level 5 and 6 gymnast. Our coaches completely misinterpreted the moves and then tried to show us the routines. Also, it would have been wonderful to see how it should be done perfectly. I had no idea. I was the best gymnast at our gym and never even scored a 9.0. Proper coaching is everything in gymnastics.

@@gracemcclean3940 The dance elements and routines in general for the routines back in the 1989-1997 are more of what defines artistic gymnastics. Filled with Grace and Power. I’ve also seen level 4. I never watched levels 1-3 in the 1989-1997 cycle. I know level 4 had a front handspring step out, handstand 180 degree pirouette and a standing back extension roll. Although favorite cycle to watch was the 1997-2005 cycle and this cycle with the dance elements like tour jete, fouetté. For the 1997-2005 season, I’ve never seen level 1, but I saw just to name a few skills level 2 had a candle stick bridge kick over and level 3 had a standing back handspring. Level 4 had a front limber, full turn, and a back extension roll. Level 3 always had a handstand forward roll. Level 4 always had a round off back handspring before they changed it in 2013. I liked level 2 and level 5 and level 6 for 2005-2013 because they have some sort of unique signature skills. Level 2 a forward roll on beam as well as its headstand on floor, level 5 a dive roll, and level 6 that special step out as a dance element as well as a side leap. 2013-2021 is okay, but better than now. Although the skills could be better, it’s a better idea than the skills we see today. My favorite routine for the 2021-2029 is definitely level 4. It’s the most enjoyable to watch.

Flic Flac?! Flic Flac?! And why are tucks called saltoes (front and back)
@amandajanesick803 жыл бұрын
I know, it's so funny to hear them say that!...Flic-flac is also a ballet term and is onomatopoeia. And salto is from the Latin "saltus" meaning to jump, leap, or flip...of course, that could pretty much be anything in gymnastics, not just tucks...haha.
