i actually do this kinda stuff for a living, take the bag and lower it about 2-4 inches down from the top of the door/window frame, hook goes above the bag once you can see into the vehicle. and with regards to the bar you were using to reach the lock i took mine and bent it in half then bent it slightly on the other 1/3s on either side of that bend to reach in and better get to the switches or the handles

MR should do a series where they invite Rogues to come on and teach them a skill. Narrow down a list of patreons or something, and have them submit audition videos (or somehow otherwise cull the herd of applicants and ensure they know something they can teach). Invite them out to the MRHQ and let them teach you how to do something.

Those pump bag things really work like a charm. I used to work at a junkyard/car auction lot. We had to clean out the cars when they would come in. Some where locked some weren't. We used those pump bags to open the door just enough to use a hanger to unlock the door from the inside.

Use a strip of flat plastic bailing strips bent over into a loop, slip it into the side of the window, loop it over the door lock on the door card near the window, use tension and friction to pull that tab up. Door = unlocked and you don't need to carry around a massive tool. Love the videos guys!

So I actually worked for AAA for about two years after I graduated college, it was a good way to make some money and earn experience for towing vehicles. (Company I worked with who had the contract paid for all of my training). And honestly, it surprised me to see how long it took. Those hooks are meant to be able to bend so you can get to those tricky handles and switches. That, there are also other types of bars that we called lassos. Pretty much just a loop of wire through a bar that could grab the post lock like you have on this car, and just pull the lock itself. Never mind me though. You guys did great for your first time doing this, and you're always entertaining to watch. Fun fact. Most if not all Ford vehicles are actually designed so that if you pull the door handle on the inside, it will open. There are quite a few models out there that don't allow that now, but Ford still does. Keep it up guys, love your content!

I do this everyday for AAA Roadside one big tip buy the long reach that's one piece and you can bend it however you want to reach everything. Next tip buy two air bags same size start on the vertical part of the door once you get some space move to the top with the second bag before removing the first this gives you a giant space to get in the car. Also loop tools let you pull on the knob of the lock making like easier too.

@johns9478

I had to do this once on the farm where I work, only with improvised tools. In hindsight, that was probably an advantage, since rather than using the metal rod you're using, I was able too takee a piece of the very stout wire I use for repairing fences and bend it to the exact shape I needed to reach the handle easily. Thank the Lordd the toolbox on my truck doesn't use the same key my truck does. After two incidents involving this sort of thing, I had a spare key made and gave it to a close friend of mine. She's already let me into my truck once. I only once paid the $50 for someone to open my truck for me and after that I vowed I wouldn't pay it again, mostly because I live in destitution.

so i used to use these daily at an auto auction, you guys have the general idea down but could definitely use some better placement of the bag/wedge to give optimal angles, also, since they are so cheap, dont be scared to bend the stick to whatever angle you actually need, some cars are harder than others for sure. good work fellas!

I have broken into numerous cars, either my own or ppl I know that have loved their keys in. Every time I have just have to MacGyver it on the spot from things I can find/are available. Only once have I had to accept defeat, and that was when me and a friend got locked out of a pretty new SUV far in the forest, and with nothing to use. On my old mazda I used a long knitting needle I found once I locked my keys in outside a closed down craftstore, I made a little hook at the end and it worked so well, that sometimes I would just lock my keys in just for goofs when I went to the store. I stored the needle behind my lisence plate the whole time I had the car.

When I was young(er) me and my friends used to break in to cars and steal stuff like car radios etc. All you need is a 90s car that has the door design where it sort of wraps up on to the roof, not the one you guys have where the door closes almost under the edge of the roof, and two pairs of hands. Wedge the top of your fingers down the small gap on the top side of the door, count to three and pull simultanielsy. This will give you a bit bigger gap, put your fingers a bit further down the gap and pull again. After three-four pulls you should be able to stick down your arm and open the lock. Me and my friends got so effective we could open a car door without breaking the glass in less than 10 sec.

alternate approach: if your friend _also_ has a Honda of a similar era, check if their keys work to unlock your door. Honda used similar key cutouts for many different vehicles (to keep costs down) such that a CR-V key will work in a Civic or a Civic key will work in an Odyssey... and vice versa. Honda thought about this and put extra security into the actual tumbler of the ignition, so although you may be able to get into the car you are not able to start it.

They did the porcelein thing on Hacking the System, so I think the object here is to open the car _without_ shattering the window.

Those rods are meant to be bent, just FYI. I kept a kit in my car for a long time because folks always locked themselves out of their cars in the parking lot of my work.

This method is my go to but some models of vehicles will lock out the ECM if you do this with pressure on the door. Jigglers and impressioning are also viable for lockouts

Part 1 you say? I'm much curious to see the rest. Bought some E55 Raycons using your link and I'm absolutely loving the them. They fit nice, the battery is better than I expected, and the range is excellent. 🙏 I can still listen to my music across 3+ rows of cubicles at work without disconnecting. 🤭

So sunday night after a D&D session i had went out to start my friend's car. i went out to start it and got the keys in the ignition and i went to the side to put my backpack in. The door was still locked and the wind blew and the door closed, i went inside the DMs place and asked for a a metal coat hanger and i got it straightened out and went outside and used it and slid it inbetween the window and the rubber seal for the window and used the straight metal to push the window button and got the door unlocked. And your video popped up and i had to share this story to you two

I found myself needing to get into my car today by way of coat hanger, I nearly screamed "I'm a modern rogue!" when I finally got it! For the record, my car was out of battery and the physical lock on the door was broken, so I couldn't unlock it to get in and release the hood to jump it.

Back in my firefighter days we would get called to lock outs all the time. Me and buddies would take a side of the car and see who could break into the car the fastest. The newer, higher end, Mercedes models are like tanks and it's pretty tough to break into them using this method.

The “pry the window” method was probably on a car that has frameless windows like an older model Subaru.

Here in Kentucky we just bend a clothes rack and slide it down the outside of the window into the inside part of the door and unlock it instead of using a wedge and unlocking it from inside

(4:30) I'm thinking you can put a bend in that rod to curve it toward the power lock or door handle. I've seen locksmiths do that. I've also seem them use longer rods to reach across the car. I have also accomplished much the same thing to unlock my own car using just a coat-hanger with no wedges.

Jason, you could have pulled the rod out, bent it with your hands, and stuck it back in to get the lock faster.

You could also use a fishing line to get the pin. I've done this before and there's almost 0 risk of damaging anything.

Could of done this with a coat hanger and a screwdriver. The trick is to use the fulcrum that is the door to make minor bend adjustments until you are able to reach the switch. Seeing as it has a lock stem you could of used the dental floss noose to pull that up.

I'm saying this before actually watching, but I'm going to love this episode. I stole my first car when I was 14, with my old man in Phoenix. Surprisingly, neither of us have ended up in prison yet.

Try getting into that car using only a shoe lace. The gist of this method is form a large slip knot. While holding both ends shimmy the loop between weather stripping down to the plastic bit the pops up and loop it around the plastic bit, tighten the knot tight enough to pull up on the plastic bit.
