I’ve used a couple router bits on the mill before but not the lathe. Are you using anything special in the tool holder Or just the set screws on the round shaft?

Just a standard boring tool holder with set screws.

Very clever use of tools! Was there any wear on the roundover bit? Did this work because brass is fairly soft, or do you think it would work on steel as well?

Basically no wear. Carbide is tough stuff and brass is soft. It may work on steel but I would be very light handed and tons of lube. I would also pre shape it as much as possible before trying the bit.
