This time I'm back in the train traffic management game Mini Metro, and this time I try to take on the One Line Challenge in Mini Metro, but this time using more than one line?!

1 square station 1 pentagon station 1 awkward triangle station 1 Plus station 1 star station 9 triangle stations 19 circle station With a passenger spawn rate of: 14 circles per tick 32 squares per tick 32 awkward triangles per tick 32 plus per tick 32 star per tick 24 triangles per tick With maximum train passenger cap of 6 2.33 trains per circle tick 5.33 per square tick 5.33 per awkward triangle tick 5.33 per plus tick 5.33 star tick 4.00 trains per triangle tick Needing a minimum of 27.33 trains on a route that accesses every shape type, moving at a rate fast enough to have a full trip per tick. Due to spawns and positions. No matter the design taken the game would have ended shortly. This was just unfortunate RNG

I sure it's on purpose (even more for the weirder shapes), to represent areas in the city that are unique and demanded (think city hall or a big shopping mall).

At the end you could’ve connected a yellow bridge to the island as well as a red bridge making your circle. Either way it’s a difficult challenge especially with only circles and no squares

yeah,there was literally only one square in that whole game, and you needed a minimum of 5 tunnels to be able to ineffectively connect every station that spawned. you neded at least 10 tunnesls to create a stable system

I live in Hong Kong, and the thumbnail picture of the level selection is exactly a part of the metro map in Hong Kong! They even got the colours right! very cool little details by the devs

I feel like that was the worst map you coulda done that challenge, I would like to see it on a more dry map so you don’t have to worry about tunnels or bridges.

The triangle station on the isolated island is actually real, it's called Tsing Yi Station and it's really on a small island surrounded by sea

I love this idea, but why in the world did you decide to do it in a level where a lack of tunnels was inevitable going to be an issue? I'd love to see this in a level with much less water, or in an infinite-tunnels challenge. I wanna see a rainbow :(

I just started playing this game! One thing I noticed is that when you move a train, whatever shapes it was carrying get dropped off at the station it would hit next on the route it started on. So if you move a train at the wrong time, you can accidentally cause overcrowding! I dunno if that will help but I hope so.

Could you try this approach in one of the earlier levels so you dont need a gazillion tunnels and we see some actual non game bullshited results

Hey RCE I'm from Hong Kong and I'm glad that you played the game in our city! Though the lines are not realistic, it's still a fun video to watch as someone who knows the actual layout of the trains!

Surprisingly in the original MTR map in Hong Kong the green line has a station called 彩虹 which means ‘rainbow’

Fun fact: The MTRs in Hong Kong actually has circles that light up to indicate stations and line changes

I think a "no mistakes" change would be a cool one but also really hard. Basically, once you put down a line or train, you can't move it. It's would be sorta more realistic though as irl we don't just redo tunnels on the fly or teleport trains around lol.

The different shapes are meant to be different uses. Circles are residential areas, so they're always going to be abundant.

Melbourne actually has a typical wagon wheel setup with a city circle hub for it's train system. The tram lines are fairly similar.

There was still a place to save a tunnel at the bottom. The track could have gone from the the left island to the bottom left island and then up and along, for just 2 in that part. Still wouldn't have saved it, but you might have managed a loop to go a bit longer.

How much time do you typically spend on these, vs what it gets condensed down to? Obviously when you’re doing time elapsed portions in the games, it takes up a lot of time, but for something that seems short like this I wondered about how much raw footage went into it.

Could you try segregation One shape per line For example One circle, one square, one circle on the red line One circle, one square, one circle on the green Line And so on

Hong Kongese here. When you do that, I know you will run out of tunnel sooner or later, because of that tricky geography. And yes... 4:45 No, that's a forking sea! 5:58 It will soon be a nightmare because of the population blooming and the forking water... Enjoy😉

10:35 "This is impossible." No it isn't. Take the left-hand end of the green line and plug into the circle above it on the mainland. Use the extra tunnel to go to Tiny Island directly from Smaller Island (go up first then over long the coast of Large Island. It will count as a single tunnel). ISLAND NAMES: Tiny Island: Has a triangle that barely fits on it. Small Island: Has a circle and is in the shape of a trapezoid. Large Island: Has a teardrop and a pentagon. Bottom Island: Where Real Civil Engineer put the Red/Green junction. Mainland: ... you know where that is.

If you wondering what the real names are Tiny Island: Tsing Yi Small Island: Chek Lap Kok/HKIA/HKG Large Island: Lantau Isalnd Bottom Island: Hong Kong Island Mainland: Kowloon+NT, and Mainland China (Shenzen) further up north

I think you could merge the red and blue lines into one larger line. And either merge the blue and yellow line together or merge the red green line and also the blue line. Do you know what I mean? Each square must make an infinite number of transfers... And also, if you did not choose an additional line, you would have an additional carriage, and you could also temporarily build a separate line to that island and save one tunnel

Yeah the game doesn't offer but a couple kinds of long term solutions. I think the most efficient is simply a rough grid and each line has at least one square on it. Connect all rare shapes by a single "rares only" line, maybe?

OH MY GOD I am from hong kong! This subway system is called MTR (Mass Transit Railway) and it is the most efficient subway in the world! (and if the passenger spawn rate was realistic, you wouldve instantly lost)because 5 million people use the mtr everyday!

I have an idea if you do another 1 lime challenge. (Don’t know if Diane one else has commented this or if you will ever see this but anyway) Do if the same way as the first 1 lime challenge but when,and only when you hit the train limit add another line so you could maybe get a higher score and not use as many bridges
