For me it's gotta be 8) Super Mario Kart 7) Super Circuit (Just a better SMK) 6) Double Dash (Never been huge on most of these. Has a few highs with Daisy Cruiser and Waluigi Stadium but not my favorite. Never been a fan of Baby Park as a normal race track. Feels more like a special battle mode with its focus on chaos.) 5) 64 (Might be nostalgia pushing this one up above double dash but the selection is just solid with Mario Raceway, Bowser's Castle, and Jungle Parkway being some of my all time favorites.) 4) DS (The retro selection holds it back a LOT but at least 4 or 5 of the new courses are some of the best in the series. If I was ranking stuff just based on the new tracks, I'd probably put it above MK7.) 3) MK7 (This one is weird for me. Honestly feels like this should be lower but all the tracks here are at least decent with no crushing lows like DS's retro roster. A solid track roster but not one I think about all too often.) 2) Wii (I find this to be the most well rounded with the retro selection. The new tracks are some of the all time best with almost no low points save for maybe the circuit tracks.) 1) MK8 (Not even a contest where every retro course is practically a new track with how much they've been updated on top of having no true low points at all plus some excellent DLC tracks.)

heres an unpopular opinion - N64 bowser castle from mkwii is my favourite castle also i love ghost valley 2 also waluigi pinball is good but is a tad overrated

I like mk8, but I really don't think the nitro tracks were that good, there are some great ones such as mount Wario ad the environments looks really good, but most of the tracks feel a little uninspired when it comes to the level design compared to other games. The retro tracks are extremely good tho. The rainbow road is also underwhelming imo.

Mario Kart 7 has indeed great Nitro and Retro tracks None of them are bad, and it was already one of my favorite Mario Kart games

I've always believed Mario Kart 7's selection of tracks was outstanding which is why I used to play it a lot during the first years of the 3DS. Too bad the game is kinda forgettable huh? Weird combination.

You know I'm really shocked that people don't like Mario Kart DS' retro tracks, those were some of my favorite. Even if the gcn ones got watered down a bit they were still amazing. The Leaf and Lightning cups are some of the best cups in Mario Kart history

Mario Kart Wii is definitely not known for its tracks. Sure, many people have nostalgia for this game, but it is definitely known for its mechanics and glitches by the community. Some examples include inside drift, great shortcuts, good item system (except for the thundercloud), advanced techniques, and a few cool glitches. It also has a big community, and lots of dedicated players making custom tracks, gamemodes, textures, and more. This makes mario kart wii have a higher skill ceiling, and makes it my favorite mario kart.

Personally, I'd also like to see a ranking based on how games play mechanically. I think 7 and 8 are pretty close in terms of how they feel. I kind of miss snaking though (even though I know full well why the drifting system was nerfed). On an unrelated note, does anyone find it interesting that while most series start with numbered entries and many drop the numbers as they get higher, Mario Kart has done the opposite?

Glad someone else shares my factual opinion that MK8's GBA Ribbon Road is the best Mario Kart track

We need a remaster of mariokart Wii on the switch titled Mario Kart 6 with MK8 graphics, MKWii physics, and some more tracks added, whether they be more retros, MK7 tracks or a few new ones. No sandbox changes, but graphics and added tracks.

Since this video was made in 2020, Mario Kart 8 would be at the bottom of my list next to Super Mario Kart. With the booster pass, it pushes Mario Kart 8 to the top for me personally because I find most of the regular tracks boring in that game.

My List 8. SNES: It's honestly hard to find a single highlight here. 7. GBA: The tracks are definitely more detailed than on the SNES. There ARE some highlights, but they're still flat. 6. N64: Most of these tracks just feel like lesser versions of their Double Dash!! counterparts. Choco mountain is a lesser version of DK mountain, DK's Jungle Parkway is a lesser version of Dino Dino Jungle, Toad's Turnpike is a lesser version of Mushroom City... etc. The Rainbow Road here is also bad. 5. DS: I know that it featured three spectacular courses, but some of the other courses (Yoshi Falls, Luigi's Mansion, Desert Hills) weren't so great. The retro tracks also had many odd choices in them. 4. 3DS: The nitro tracks aren't quite the best, but this game might have the greatest selection of retro tracks. 3. Wii: Some pretty great nitro courses here, but not a very great selection of retro courses. 2. GCN: Say what you will about Dry, Dry, Desert or Sherbet Land. Most of the other tracks are pretty awesome. 1. Wii U/ Switch: Great nitro AND retro tracks.

My order considering only the games I have played has to be. 4. DS Had some good tracks but bogged down by retros. 3. Wii I honestly don’t dispise any of its tracks if they where HD quality though it could easily be #1 2. Mario Kart 7 Has a ton of great tracks and the gliding mechanic is good just a shame it is a 3ds game. 1. Mario kart 8 HD and on the big screen 48 tracks too and mostly good to great very creative. Does have a few bad courses but the sheer number of courses makes up for it. I’m hoping Mario kart 9 brings back every notable track from the mainline games if it ends up with 100-150 of the best tracks ever it will far exceed the other games. Seems unlikely but I’m hoping it happens.

tbh mkwii is my favorite but mk7 is the only game with all nitro tracks in top 100

It's probably just me but I don't like the most tracks in Mario Kart 8 and my favorite ones are from Mario Kart Wii, they are all so much fun.

I’m ranking these by AWESOME TRACKS. Not just good, they have to be really fun to play on. SNES Has Nothing. N64 has Rainbow Road, Yoshi Valley, Wario Stadium, Bowsers Castle, and DK Jungle Parkway, but the rest are lame. GBA has Cheese Land, Ribbon Road, and others, but some are lame. GCN has Daisy Cruiser, Yoshi Circuit, Dino Dino Jungle, DK Mountain, Baby Park, Mushroom City and Bridge, Waluigi Stadium, and Wario Colosseum, but others are pretty lame, so 9/16=18/32. DS has Tick Tock Clock, Waluigi Pinball, Delfino Square, Airship Fortress, Luigis Mansion, and Wario Stadium, as well as retro tracks like Yoshi Circuit and Mushroom Bridge, so that’s has 8/32 Awesome tracks, so it doesn’t beat Double Dash. Wii has Maple Treeway, Koopa Cape, Coconut Mall, Warios Gold Mine, Grumble Volcano, DK Summit, Moonview Highway, Bowsers Castle, Toad Factory, and Mushroom George, Plus Retro Tracks like DK Jungle Parkway, Delfino Square, DK Mountain, Waluigi Stadium, N64 Bowsers Castle, and Peach Gardens and Beach, so that’s a 16/32 or 1/2, which is better than DS but worse than GCN. I’m ranking these by percentage of Awesome Tracks, not just how many. 3Ds has Nitro Tracks like Music Park, Wuhu Loop, Maka Wuhu, Rock Rock Mountain, My favorite renditions of Mario Circuit and Rainbow Road, DK Jungle, Warios Shipyard, Neo Bowser City, Piranha Plant Pipeway, and Bowsers Castle, but also Reteo tracks like Daisy Cruiser, Maple Treeway, Coconut Mall, Waluigi Pinball, Koopa Cape, Dino Dino Jungle, Mushroom George, Airship Fortress, DK Pass, and Khalimari Desert. So that’s a 21/32, Position Number 1 So Far. WiiU has Sunshine Airport, Cloudtop Cruise, Mount Wario, Electrodrome, Dolphin Shoals, Toad Harbor, Thwomp Ruins, Shy Guy Falls, Twisted Mansion, and the best rendition of Bowsers Castle, but then retro tracks like Music Park, Tick Tock Clock, N64 Rainbow Road, Grumble Volcano, Wario Stadium, Royal Raceway, DK Jungle, Piranha Plant Pipeway, Yoshi Valley, and Moo Moo Meadows. And DLC which comes with Big Blue, Super Bell Subway, Hyrule Circuit, Mute City, Wild Woods, Dragon Driftway, Warios Gold Mine, Ribbon Road, Neo Bowser City, Baby Park, Cheese Land, and Yoshi Circuit, and Excite Bike Arena. Which is a 32/48 aka 22/32, which is 1 more than 3Ds, so that means in my opinion, Mario Kart 8 (Deluxe) wins.

Wario Coliseum is definitely too low.
