I personally think that having a variety of planets would be best, not only for your power, but also for roleplay. Once you've conqured the galaxy you can turn the entire thing into a massive menagerie, protecting and preserving every part of the galaxy's natural order

Hey, Lathrix. Just wanted to point out that it is possible for your empire to build blockers on planets via the decisions tab. Fanatic ecocentrists have this ability and can choose specific blockers to add. However, you need to have researched that particular clear blocker technology in order to build them on your planet. Not sure if you have done this already as a prereq for another technology, but if you haven't, that's something you'll need to do. Either way, loved the video, and I'm looking forward to how everything plays out!

Oh! The mutant stalker planetary effect is from either the bad-end to the ‘opening a bunker’ event on a tomb world, or one of the bad endings to the ‘abandoned terraforming equipment’ event. Got both in one playthrough this last weekend.

If I'm reading correctly, the ecocentrist ethic allows you to create blockers using decisions, if you have researched the technology to remove them.

I think the special planets style could fit the empire extremely well, since biology is also a lot about filling nichea and stuff, so you could say, that the spores see themselves as a part of a bigger organism where everything has a bigger purpose. A kinda strength through diversity approach... Also since this playthrough is kinda an introduction to these mods for future videos it could showcase benefits of different planets. However, the spore planets look awesome and it would be extremely funny to look through all the planets and they are all blue and shiny.

Really appreciate you making these playthroughs, even if they aren't especially channel-friendly. Doing my part and leaving a comment for the algorithm.

Hey lathrix, for the next modded can you take a look at "gwen's additions playstyles"? :) i'd post a list of 70 mods but i'll try to resist the urge, that being said, apart from GAPS, my favourite mods are the ones that add new ascension perks or tradittions or origins, so you might want to consider. Plentiful traditions, unique ascension, expanded stellaris ascension/traditions, origins expanded.

Lore wise it works that primitives would be on rare worlds. It’s exceedingly rare for life to develop so it makes sense rare worlds would be better at supporting life.

Also... Gaia worlds have everything for everyone. It's the ultimate in planet... I think making them all into that makes perfect sense for this empire.

Lathland next time can you do a run where the species is messed up and Believe and traits are contradicting each other and they are insanity and unpredictable in every way. They never agreed on big thing like government and Religion basically I think that would be cool

Lath, trust me, you want the tech from Dragon's Hoard instead of the egg. The tech gives you Dragonscale Armor, which is the tier 6 armor and is therefore quite a bit better than Neutronium Armor, which is tier 5. I jokingly call it "The Dark Matter Deflectors of Armor." Whereas the egg gives you a juvenile Ether Drake which, like Bubbles, is way too cute to ever send into battle.

You should play as an all defensive Empire, you can declare war, build fleets, and stations, just you can’t use the fleets to attack anyone. Only defend your planets. The only way to gain more territory you need to make claims, or just use science ships.

Now this is neat. A combination I like is: Expanded plantoids - Plantoids produce 0.5 food per pop, but consume energy or minerals + Bioships from the unofficial Hivemind DLC It makes your eneconomy a mess as you're only good at producing food. In my last praytrough. I was producing 1800 food per month out of which 1200 went to trade to keep my energy and mineral deficits balanced

I used the Inquisition civic, it is very fun, and a good roleplay build

Awesome build! Mods seems to add lots of flavor to the game. I would turn each planet to a profitable type according to its specialty, and in doubt, turn into gaia. Also, seems like a micro-management hell you got there, gg, I would never have the patience.

I cant handle this much full playthroughs :OO i need more of these :D

Hey Lathrix! After hearing the intense dismay and dread in your voice when you learned terraforming removes blockers, I thought I'd hear a "Future Lathrix here" because you read aloud at the start, one of your starting ethics/civics allows you to construct blockers through planetary decisions once you've researched the ability to remove them! So honestly I think for RP purposes maybe 'enhance' what worlds already are. Lots of farms? Lichen World etc. Stuff like that. Just add in blockers afterwards and make those druids happy!

I do love these longer videos and the modded ones especially, there are so few good modded games of stellaris on KZfaq. I would be excited to see a game with more mods, maybe picking a modpack from the workshop. Also if no-one else has mentioned it, you can buy the location of leviathans off the Curators by asking them about mysteries of the universe. It costs about 1k energy per location and puts them in your situation log.

I would personally do the variety of planets as, from what I understand, your empire was made to make the galaxy a more beautiful place for the fallen empire so it will try and make lots of unique worlds. This could also be why you invade the fallen empire, to change their Gaia worlds into unique and non repetitive worlds.

Lathrix, Stelllaris, and poisonous spores - things that go perfectly together :) As for the question at the end of the video: it looks like most other people share my opinion - make each planet suitable for particular specialization. It makes the galaxy more varied and interesting on top of making senses in gameplay terms.
