Thank you, Jeremy, so much for bringing your pup to Joel and sharing your session with us. Many little dog owners think their dog’s misbehavior is cute so we don’t see very many little dog sessions. Big dogs, on the other hand, can be scary if not under control. They have to be well behaved or someone may get hurt. What a sweet pup you have!

What I like and why I like Joel and his methods is that he works each dog according to what they need. There are many reactive dog videos because that is what o dogs need help with, and even they are not all the same because each dog is different from the one that just left. We get to watch Joel quickly figure out what this little one needed in a matter of minutes. Way to go again, Joel. I love watching you work. 🌟🌟🌟

I think it would be a wonderful use of your new windfall to sponsor a "difficult" dog from a shelter for a 2-week board&train, of course show his training. I bet u get a zillion ppl wanting to adopt the dog and then u can show the new adopter family and them doing a session with u so u can train them also to maintain their new pupper's good behavior. 🐾❤️

Ive been thinking about getting a dog for years now to face my own fears and try to step over the boundries of my anxiaty and ptsd. I always hesitated this whole time, because I've never had the confidence in myself to be able to handle such responsibilities. Ive lived with my father my whole life, and i feel like getting a dog is the start to being a more independent person. These videos have helped me so much in making the choice and once the right dog is at my local shelters ill start that. Im just so scared and nervous that because of my mental state of mind that i wont be the best dog owner in the world but i cant wait to see more from you guys. If only we could have Beckman's Dog Training groups across the country for meetups! I would feel much better about my dogs meeting new dogs if the owners were like minded. I think so many of us struggle getting our dogs around other dogs. And I haven't found a trainer in NJ area yet that is doing such a thing. We do petsmart training classes and dog pack walks to get my dogs around other dogs, but open play is difficult.

100% agree, when & where they get treated is significantly more important than bridging. Dogs need other dogs, like horses need other horses….. I believe somewhere in Scandinavia there’s a country that requires if you’re going to own a guinea pig you must own a minimum of two so that they have companionship. I think it should be that way for any species we humans keep as domestic pets. Just because WE THINK we are providing them with a full, loving life doesn’t mean that they are actually fulfilled. Not saying that it’s impossible to create a good life for a pet that lives by itself but I think it’s almost always better to have two of the same species or even some thing like a horse and a goat because they are both herd/pack animals. They graze together & can communicate with each other better than we can with either of them

Yo JOEL BECKMAN - the hero - please read this i promise it’ll be worth your time and mean a hell of a lot to me . The last paragraph especially. Your work is more important to me personally then any other thing on this planet at the moment so I hope you read thjs man . And it took me like way to long to write because it’s a bunch of emotions and trama and I blame myself for all of it . Thanks for everything man id be in a very bad place still if not for you to be honest. Cesar’s great I watched all his shows and all the seasons but they wouldn’t of helped me with Beamer . ****Your videos would of prevented me from 3 separate ambulance rides to the emergency rooms *** your fuckjng videos you’re powerful I wish you were a KZfaqr 6 years ago man. Oh not counting the rides to the ER for Bruce and Bentley 2 of my 3 dogs severely hurt because I failed my other , Beamer . you know that terrified dog ur working with : I have a 80 pound sharpei/rot/ pit bull mix : with his level of fear BUT unfortunately its all aggression from fear he’s a combo of that other dog u talked about on another video . The crazy aggressive girl . Like her he went through the highest level of abuse u which U explained :he was tied to fences while men made other dogs bite him in the face over and over and effectively turned him into a fighting dog . I didn’t know this until our first incident years later . The shelter didn’t tell me I wish They did is go to the emergency room 10 more times for Beamer : anything is better than feeling like I failed him . I wish I knew of you before I rescued him. At first because of ignorance and a natural with dogs I was able to have 3 pit bulls ) rescues live in harmony for 9 months - with a 14 year old mini dachshund lol-- I rescued them months apart but within the same year. then obviously bad things happened and the dominos started to fall. Plus me losing confidence and blaming it on myself after every incident . ***Almost had my thumb amputated Thjs past January*** just from holding off his full bite from one other baby boi -Bentley -- he is a lot like Prince and last paragraph will convince you why . The only dog Beamers is not scared of is our 14 year old mini dachshund : blu . And let me tell you little blu is not scared of him lol . So I had to rehome my 3rd - Bruce - after all dogs lived in harmony for almost a year together : every attack was really bad. It was for his own safety that fucking sucked I miss him but he has a great new pit bull brother and 2 loving parents. But it was fuckjng hard on me . Mad respect to fosters parents. But it’s just unfortunate. Then 3 years later shit got worse after no problems .Beamer - the abused and my second rescued in order - will At least be able to stay with my parents and his buddy blu when I leave with Bentley these upcoming months. Anyway you have no idea how important you are . his name is Beamer - originally graverson-- I just wish the shelter would of told me that I needed to do things very perfectly or in a certain way for a long time and maybe things wouldn’t of happened the way they did; of course I blame myself but I just didn’t know until it was to late . everyone is healthy and happy and things are looking good for everyone . Except my thumb at the moment lol. People are evil man I swear: he really is a sweet heart : loves people even after all that torture that’s why I’m going into the field of dogs after college - going for a masters in bcba Ironically- if I decide to finish I started 3 days after almost losing my thumb with a 14 inch rod inside holding my tendon together accompanied by 4 fractures : idk hope you read this because maybe I’d still have all 3 of my boys with me . Instead I failed Beamer and endangered others who I have a deep love for . Not to mention I feel I failed the breed itself . But I’m finally getting back to normal. Now I hope I can repay Bentley for all he’s done for me and others he’s also recovering from the tramua but apparently a lot faster than me lol . I’m just happy I saved him from major surgery. Unlike Bruce . Id give my entire hand to save any dog but the trama has really messed with me from seeing how wrong something so good can go so wrong so fast . This last paragraph is for you Bentley , Boscoe , and prince . Thank you , you help me escape from a sad reality and I try not blame myself as much. Cheers . Wish I lived in LA I would pay you to work for you if I could lol. Cheers. Now the very last paragraph 4 years summed up ******If it wasn’t for Bentley ****Beamer would of probably of been put down when he went after the neighbors dog a 2 month year old shepherd . My fault he got out and I was right behind him full sprint but he would of killed that dog. Thank god Bentley bit Beamer on the ass and got him to drop the dog before any real damage happened to him and my hands for that matter. My hands were in his mouth but I was not gunna get that thing open. ***Oh not to mention Bentley did the same thing when Beamer put 28 stitches in Bruce’s chest and neck even with my holding some of his bite back ****he bit his ass when he attacked Bruce without him I would of buried Bruce that day. Bentley saved 3 dogs the little guy , Bruce , and he saved Beamer from getting put down by stopping him from killing them. I hope I can make him happy after I get past all this. These all happened years apart except for the last two of him attacking Bentley bc I wasn’t on my game with their resource guarding for fuckjng 5 minutes out of the 5 years Bentley and Beamer have been loving brothers . Sorry that it’s poor grammar but school has fried my brain . Probably won’t finish . Much love . Much much love .

I have a 4 month old husky and I think i will start this technique with him. He likes to pull to smell the grass and the flowers. I let him do it sometimes. He doesn't pull to bark or attack other dogs because he is too friendly and he thinks every person or dog is his friend, but I think he should learn how to walk properly but he is not too food motivated. He doesn't even like walking when we are outside, how should I go around it?

You have to show the dog where the steps are. He enters via the steps. He exits via the steps. It also helps to use identifiers like large plants or chairs, something big in the backyard. Put them by the steps so that he can easily find them. And if you're feeling creative, teach the dog to use the ladder.

In a video about treat placement, why wouldn't you hold leash in right hand and treat with left hand to prevent pup from crossing? It seems logical your left hand treating him at side or behind would keep pup's body straight. And in most of your other videos, when giving a poppy correction, your holding leash with right hand. So why different for the treat centric pom-ski?

I truly think all new dog owners, whether if it’s a massive dog or a small dog, should take training school. Or get a dog license. You have to pass the test in order to own a dog. Imagine how many less dogs would be surrendered? If ppl had control or training, the dog and human connection would be even better. It’s a joke how ppl don’t know how to even walk their dog or have a clue how to read animal behaviours. This guy had trouble understanding placement with a 15lb dog. Lol. Nobody establishes rules with their dogs. It like a driver being distracted behind the wheel
