There are a lot uses for a Cricut machine in the pottery studio. One way that I use my Cricut maker is to cut stencils for my anaglyphs. Anaglyphs are 3d images that appear when you were the old red and blue lens 3d glasses.

Love love love this video!!! Thank you! I hadn't thought about using a transfer sheet backing with my stencils, but now I will!

Great info. I hadn't thought about contact paper. So much cheaper.

I found it wasn't as sticky as the transfer papers which made releasing the vinyl easier. It even allows me to put vinyl on green ware for water etching.

Thanks for the demonstration! Have you ever tried screen printing? It's quite simple and you could reuse the screens almost indefinitely. Also, it's much faster to apply the paint. How did you paint on the cracks? They look very cool!

I've used screen printing for some of my decoration, it just doesn't give me the ability to get the anaglyph technique as well as I would like it. The cracks in the piece are actual cracks. I formed the cup shape by press molding bits of clay in to a plaster mold. The cracks you see are where two pieces are smooshed together.

Yes I can. I use a cheap permanent vinyl to create the stencil on my Cricut maker. The material I use for transferring the vinyl is contact paper. I almost exclusively use Amaco velvet underglazes as I find they have been the most stable at cone 10 for my work.
