I feel like this is the job I have in the post office, except I'm a mail carrier. My job is called a combo route. I do part delivering mail like other carriers do, but I do it that part for about 2.5 hrs. The rest I drive around, picking up blue boxes and courtesy stops at businesses who may have packages or mail going out. I work Monday- Friday weekends off. I love it

Hi Jay, I just received my orientation start date and you cleared the BG check ready to hire email!!! Lol, I start as a CCA and I am excited, thankful but scared. My sister retired as a Supervisor at age 47 like a year ago, the problem is, I never once heard so much negativity about the USPS till I came online reading stuff like Quora, and Reddit. She did talk stress and anxiety burnout toward the end but she seemed to like her job overall, she started out as a RCA, and then became a city carrier. Anyway, thanks for all the information on USPS, it really helps a new hire like me be at ease!

Hey Jay I go for the driving section and I just found out you have to know airbreaks and it’s 7 steps ! I’m a bit nervous as I was a mail lady career and quit but then came back and started over as CCA and was first in line and got fired because corporate messed up on my paperwork! Got offered my job back but this PVO came at same time so I took it as it’s way closer to home and now I’m second guessing because if it’s PTF will I get all that OT as a mail carrier? You know the OT makes your check where you can be financially stable and also if I fail the driving course do I get fired ? Or will I be retrained ? I’m watching videos on KZfaq to have the 7 steps for air breaks down pack but my anxiety is getting the best of me .

@@MrFinesse316 that’s what I thought but their making us learn it … I’ve done made flash cards and watching a video on YT on repeat all day to embed it in my brain cuz they threw me off with it . I practice and test with a trainer on Tuesday

PVO is only being offered at this time in Oklahoma City, OK. It's a new pilot program being offered in 2023. 125 drivers needed.

@@christydixon4753 I just started in OKC last week. I think i got close to 39 hours, counting orientation, driver safety, the driving test, and 3 days of ride-along with drivers that know the routes. They have part time flex as well as full time positions that will be filled.

If you have CDL experience, you’re most likely will be considered for the job. If not, it’s definitely near impossible to get it unfortunately. Good position tho!

Carrier position sucks in all honesty. I'd say over half of the carriers have bunions, foot surgerys, shoulder surgeries etc. They are rich yes but they can barely walk or function properly. We have 1 life and this company will see me running the opposite direction soon....while I still can run!

I'm changing driving job after 15 years worried because I have a daughter graduating in May.( one day) And my other Daughter getting married on a 7 day cruise in July. That would just ruined my 90 day probation. Should I just remove app ,and just reapply later
