I've been dealing with this from my post office for years to the point my family and friends won't send anything to me through the mail, I've reported it and done everything I can think of and nothing ever gets done

I ordered a package, and it was sent by USPS. I was given a range of dates that it would be received. Ten days after the last date I called the people I ordered it from, and asked if it had been sent. The person on the phone said that it was received in my local post office (1 mile away from my house) ten days earlier. I called my local post office and got the biggest run around I've gotten before. The person told one lie after another. I hung up, got back on the phone to the company I ordered it from, and ordered another one. Guess what - the original package was delivered the next day. We need to get rid of Louis DeJoy yesterday. Time for the USPS to return to being a Service for the American people instead of a grift for Louis DeJoy.

I am so glad this is being brought to light. I have been frustrated with the Norcross Ga postal service for years. In addition, whenever packages from Amazon are delivered by the USPS, they never get to me, as stated in the tracking notification. They lied and said they had then the package appeared several days later; after I complained to Amazon, I did not receive it. More accountability is demanded.

I swear USPS is on of the worst carriers in America. I constantly have issues with them. I encourage anyone to use UPS or FedEx instead. They can sometimes suck too but compared to USPS they're angels.

There are letter carriers who work at the post offices that could reveal who the culprits are but those same letter carriers are being abused by postal management who encourage this behavior by their so-called favorites. It's these type of actions that pushes some letter carriers to work harder in providing excellent service to our customers but no one with "authority" will listen. It's sad given the chain of command that's supposed to be effective. stamped "chicago."

Mann I work for the post office now and I’m telling you now that it’s some type of plan to destroy the postal service from within. Louis Dejoy pulled postal police from the streets so no security for us if we’re ever harassed, postal inspectors aren’t investigating hardly anything anymore, there’s a TON of wasteful spending. Congress doesn’t seemed to interested in getting to the bottom of it either. I was hoping to make it to retirement but man idk now 😔

If the postmasters refuse to address the issue then we should assume they are the ring leaders and treat them accordingly.

I quit using USPS awhile back cause packages I sent my mom & sister for Christmas were broken into and cherry picking ensued, lol. I use UPS now when I send them anything. Never had another problem.

Crimes committed by postal employees are all investigated "in house." The public is mostly unaware of these investigations and will never find out about them. I worked with many Postal employees and managers who were fired for a vast array of offences.

I had a complaint about sexual harassment while working as a CCA for USPS. Nothing was done about it. The office I worked at couldn’t hold onto a Post Master. We had regular supervisors having to fill in for the PM for months at a time. Something is horribly wrong with USPS. It isn’t good.

are they investigating the banks, or other companies authorizing payment of those obviously altered checks? Seems like they may have inside enablers who cash these checks.

I had this issue and this was in virginia. Some hoodlums stole my package of precious metals(worth $50 then but more now due to silver price increases) and the USPS criminal services division never replied to my complaint.

Every time I get a envelope or card in the mail from usps, you can tell it’s been tempered with. Like someone ripped a corner or the top to see if there’s cards, checks or cash in it

The reporter is wrong when she says the Post Office receives tax dollars. They don't.

Several things 1: "tax payers support the post office" no they do not, USPS hasn't been tax funded since 1984. Solely self funded 2: Once the postal inspectors have the case, it's out of the hands of the postmasters and other managers. It's with a whole different agency doing the investigation. Postmasters can start the investigation but once it's handed over to USPIS, that's it. Especially if it's suspected they are involved. 3: The postal inspectors do not do internal crimes, that's handled by the OIG of the USPS. Different agency that is solely internal investigations. 4:Even if the postmasters do know what is going, they have to follow the orders of the investigators. If they are told to not speak, they can't speak. Do a little bit of research next time.

They can sue the postal inspectors office in district court.

Most post office workers are frustrating to deal with. I have instructed amazon to NOT use the usps whenever possible. I also take care of most of my bills and payments online. Take it from me, the LESS you have to deal with the Post Office and it's minions, the better.

I live in Duluth and just filed a complaint about this! Every package recently has been opened. This just started a couple months ago. Whoever it is needs to be arrested. It’s a serious issue in Duluth now.

I’ve been waiting for my sons social for almost 2 months. If you know about informed delivery it showed a picture that we will be receiving it soon. And still nothing I’ve been calling SSO and they keep telling me something like this takes awhile but how long do I wait before someone claims my child on there taxes. I just stopped working at the PO in January and I can definitely say it’s not what I though it would be considering the fact that it’s a federal government job. Most regulars and new people would let the mail fall and most times I would see mail fall from the bins that move across the building. Smh I hope his information is not lost.

Here in Chicago (ranked the worst postal service in the nation) the Dearborn station (ranked the worst in the city) is called the black hole because mail comes in and disappears.

My brother mailed a box from California to New York in December 2021. It was addressed to his daughter. The package also had my brother's return address on it. The post office said the recipient's address was bad. ( it wasn't). The post office then obliterated the return address and sent the package to the Atlanta mail recovery center. This is where the post office then sells the contents of people's packages. We have been in contact with the post office since December and still have not received the package or any way to file a claim for the value of the contents because they won't mail us a claims form. Tried to do it on line but had numerous issues inputting the information. There was no reason to cover a return address on a package. I consider this action theft and the post office is profiting from it.

It's a damn shame how they have "no comment" when it comes to issues involving the citizens they serve BUT always want to "cry poor mouth" when they request Federal funding to bail their sorry asses out of financial trouble!!!

I have had dozens of pieces of mail stolen between my daughter in Twentynine Palms California and myself in St. Petersburg, Florida. I have been to the main post office in St. Petersburg over two dozen times and have never been able to see the postmaster. I have been told the postmaster is a lady, but I wouldn't know because I have never seen that person. Anyone I report the thefts to don't seem to care. Nothing has ever been done about the thefts. I am starting to believe postal officials think, mail theft is legal if it occurs inside the post office and done by postal employees.

As a retired Letter Carrier I can safely assert the bulk of the problem is due to the Postal Service now hiring cheaper, Non-governmental employees, replacing the true Civil Service employees as they retire. I have even had a piece of jewelry, (Inexpensive) taken from me I ordered from Amazon years ago. As a retired employee, who even has a United State account on the Postal Service website, I NEVER got a resolution or refund. The Post Masters have now found themselves with a HUGE problem of millions of Non- government employees who have little to nothing to lose by committing Postal Theft. In short, you get what you PAY for!

I do not live in Georgia but I had a problem with USPS where I live. I dropped my replacement phone in the post office mail box to return it to AT&T but it was never returned. Post office workers are stealing mail, period!

Here in West Texas, We had a couple of people that sort the mail caught stealing several million dollars worth of mail. Mostly checks. Washing checks is a big racket these days.

If you do not put certification or tracking and insurance on your mail when going through USPS you stand to lose it. Last week an employee told me so lightly. This is Washington State Pierce County.

Who knows, they re robbing mail carriers for there mailbox keys. Last year a Post Office was actually robbed and was shut down for a year. Sounds like that post office in particular has some issues though.

They steal from their own employees also. This is something I experienced when I worked for the post office for 15 years (retired a couple years ago). Post office managers are encouraged to short employees on their paychecks. The Associated Press did a story on this about a year ago which of course got buried in the news and was out of circulation within a day. And I'm not talking about a couple of bucks here and there, I'm talking about thousands of dollars that they'll skim off the top of everybody's paycheck over the course of a year. We caught our manager at our office doing this and when we filed a complaint and of course nothing happened, because the whole post office management system is in on it. They do a fake investigation, they give the manager a fake slap on the wrist, and put them right back in charge of the same people they stole from.

Well looks like it just started here in Phoenix as well. I ordered something and UPS delivered to USPS and it provided tracking #. It said arrived, But I never got the packaged I was home at the time they said they delivered it.

USPS recently lost a package that had been mailed to me. It was a shipment of “live animals”, and I went through hoops over a period of weeks to get them to search for the package. 4 weeks later, it’s still missing. Post office still unwilling to do anything at all. In addition, I paid a bill a week ago and then got a notice (from the company whose bill I had sent a check for) that they never received the check. That one is also not yet resolved. Whatever you do, NEVER send live shipments via USPS.

Finally. A story on this debauchery. I sold an item through poshmark and it was never delivered. Sent multiple times through the website a complaint it was closed out without anyone speaking with me each time. called and never got anything but loops from the machine.

I think this is a bigger problem than just in Atlanta. Got a package that someone ripped my shipping label off and placed it on another. Then they scanned the package twice with both shipping labels on it. I brought the package back, since it wasn't mine, to be sent to the correct location. Now I'm stuck with a very expensive piece of paper. Luckily, I have insurance, but we'll see how far that goes.

I had some costume jewelry stolen from a weekend mailman, and I really hope he proposed to his girl, with the engagement set, because it was extremely beautiful, but I think he'll be single in about a week when her finger turns green and the jewelry starts to tarnish, needless to say, he didn't work for the post office anymore

I myself have been a victim of mail theft from the Atlanta Ga terminals I ordered some Snap On tools online and well many of the packages were opened and the contents removed the packages were re taped and empty packages shipped to my address luckily I paid for the insurance sad we can’t trust our Postal Service I requested to see video of my packages being opened they gladly declined I now Despise the USPS because they wish to cover this up ☹️

Omg, I am one of the victims here too. I sent merchandise to my clients, people at post office ripped open stole them ( not sure which state though ). I resent, the second envelope never reached to my client. Very disappointed.

I called the post office to ask who has jurisdiction in the lobby after she told me they call local police if there is a disturbance. I later got a call from a Postal Ivestigator saying I threatened them. They investigated me for saying I would sue if it happened to me. I don't know who has jurisdiction there and I'm not sure anyone else does either since the only cases I found about it are sealed. They investigated me very quickly, so I am suprised they are ignoring crime and investigating citizens that ask questions. I have a theory though that there are supposed to be Federal Postal Officers that have arrest powers but we only have 2000 of them. That's not enough to investigate anything but some serious crimes. The post office has been defunded and the cannot protect their workers so they rely on local law enforcement to do so. The legality of it is not very clear and I got intimidated from investigating it any further. Please do not contact me for any further details, unless you know how to revoke a FOIA request.

Useless service, I lost so many packages. Neither the police help nor the postal inspectors. Same situation in New Jersey and Maryland.

I mailed 2 checks in January and they never made it to their destination. Even stole 2 packages that my daughter never received but they say they delivered. Post office in Conyers said its nothing they can do about it.

Please do your research before claiming the post service runs on tax payer funding. The postal service is the only agency that is not included in the federal budget. Yet it is required to run on prices the government sets for them. I agree they should find out what's going on with the mail though.

I thought this only happened in other countries…when I lived in Algeria for 3years, my mother would always write letters to me but I would receive them with the envelope already ripped opened…the locals told me that the postal workers would open up every packages and envelopes that are coming from Europe or the US because they think it might have money inside so they can steal

Anyone else not sure which is the Mom and which is the Daughter? Spend the extra $2 and use UPS, at least you know it will get there and you can sue. POST OFFICE SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN!

This is a huge problem in the entire Montgomery, Alabama area. I had a check "washed" in January of 2022, and the amount had been changed to $10,000.00, so luckily my bank called me before honoring it from another bank that had cashed it. My wife had a company check "washed" two weeks ago, and now I have another check missing this week. In each case, we used the mailbox outside of three different post offices. When this happens, we're being forced to close the accounts, and buy new checks after opening new accounts. It's time consuming and expensive. Something needs to be done.

I have an online business and USPS is a joke. About to switch to only using UPS or FedEx but some customers use PO Boxes so I need to use USPS for some of the shipping.

United States Postal Service said that they delivered my package (a Sony Playstation VR2 headset) worth about at least $500 in my mailbox this morning, but when I opened my mailbox, there was nothing in there. I am miserable 🤨
