Dang dude, I think you would've had so much fun shooting this stage too!

This is why I'm going to the new LIMITED OPTICS Division and converting my CGW SP01 to SAO . I've never been DQd but it's almost happened couple times
@lovetopew9054 Жыл бұрын
No difference. Holster with the hammer back and safety off = DQ in any class. Granted it’s probably more of a habit to flip the safety on with a SAO gun but you could still screw up.

@@lovetopew9054 No one is perfect. Your brain gets put into overload on some stages . I was a tactical guy before I got into COMPETITION couple years ago . If my eyes come off theSights / red dot the PISTOL or Carbine goes on safe if there is a safety. Obviously there are variables. I'm not flipping to safe if I'm just making wide transition . It cost me 0 time to flip it on safe with Carbine or SP01 .

Brain Freeze DQ. I see an SAO conversion and a change to limited optics in your future, just remember to use your safety...

Definite brain freeze. No interest in LO, just gotta have my head on straight.

But I see you always put your hammer down on your drills/training videos. Was this at WGC?
@lovetopew9054 Жыл бұрын
I normally do. I just forgot. Too focused on the stage plan, or something. Usually I will insert mag, rack slide, then drop hammer immediately. I stripped the mag after step 2 to insert a full magazine(so I would have 24 rounds) and that change in order combined with trying to focus on the stage, just caused me to forget. I am going to need to develop a consistent routine to prevent this. It happened back in October but that was because I was new and didn't know the rule, I have no excuse now. Yes WGC had an all classifier match yesterday. 6 stages.

Question: Is the a DQ for the stage or the entire day?
@lovetopew90542 ай бұрын
A DQ is always for the whole match.

@lovetopew90542 ай бұрын
No. That’s why I was DQed.

Little confused by this. DQ'd for taking a site picture with hammer back, no safety on or gun holstered, hammer back and no safety on? Maybe because gun holstered but incorrect start position for CO because hammer was back?
@lovetopew9054 Жыл бұрын
Holstering with hammer back and safety not applied. That is an unsafe condition and a DQ no matter the division. Only exception would be if the gun is empty.

The RO could have been cool and reminded him. It’s a local match. It should be about having fun and being safe, not playing “gotcha.”
@lovetopew9054Ай бұрын
He could have. And I’ve done it too for new shooters. I’ll usually get them before they get the gun in the holster. That said, an RO is within his rights to follow the rules to the letter. So I don’t fault him for DQing me for my own mistake.
