Governor Spencer Cox and First Lady Abby Cox issued a plea for Utahns to step forward to be foster parents. "We are at crisis levels right now," Abby Cox told reporters at a news conference with the Utah Foster Care foundation on Tuesday.

They don't want abortions but can't handle the consequences of their policies. The kids suffer. It never fails to amaze me that the right can't see or won't accept the obvious result of their beliefs becoming law.

So urgent they will hand them over to anyone. My neighbor qualified as a foster parent after she starved her farm animals to death. She was cited for animal cruelty and became a foster parent.

Horrifying example of why the foster system is more dangerous than a regulated home with careful monitored professional carers would be. My conspiracy is that we’ve all been brainwashed to think a private home, any home, is better than an orphanage or foster care facility, but that’s just an excuse concocted to shirk our societal responsibility to these kids

What if they funded state-run regulated foster homes with a low ratio of kids to carers, or even just provided low or no cost daycare? Oh wait. That would cost money and undermine the fear-based coercion meant to keep unprepared parents impoverished and desperate.

I would be happy to foster kids however my disability would likely be more of a burden to them.😥I do manage to provide some support for four now five great-grand daughters though.😁

My wife and I can't buy a house with my engineering salary let alone foster another kid. The millennials will never catch up. We gave up on retirement.

Disgusting joke but a perfect example of why there should be state run and REGULATED foster care homes with a low ratio of carers to kids. Terrible things happened in orphanages of the past, but terrible things are being done to foster kids by their foster “parents” right now. At least if it’s one regulated place with lots of other kids and monitoring, there is some chance kids have a sense of safety and aren’t horribly abused within the system.
