@@naomisleepyz4703 When you have so many expansions, hearing rapid "Nuclear Launch Detected" every few seconds in rapid succession, your going to watch to quickly scan all your bases to minimize losses that could majorly cripple you. Even if the nuke is wasted on nuking a critter no where near your opponent it is still mentally damaging to them. Eventually the opponent might think their opponent is just messing with them and disregard those warnings. However if they decide to ignore the launch it could be a real launch that does actual damage, so most constantly scan all their bases looking for those circles, but you need to watch your army to make sure it doesn't walk into the enemy army. So now your just constantly wasting time trying to not get nuked, while attacking your opponent. Launching multiple all over the map also means when several are real, they will pull back from that base they spotted a nuke at but forget that 5 more nukes were launched which are also on bases. So is general there isn't an exact timestamp it's just a prolonged all match psychological warfare to make them never not paranoid.

This is like a full length movie of the best of uThermal... It doesn't get boring because of the audio voiceover and massive variation in builds, playstyles, and difficulty. I'd stick this up in front of suggested videos for new subscribers. Hope you're thinking of making more videos of voiced-over compilations of you're other challenges as well. You always seemed to start doubting your chances while starting some of your series with some set of ridiculous rules, then you'd discover surprising new strats, and inevitably climb higher in MM than you had ever predicted. So I think it'd be fun to watch your interesting matches at the various skill levels for bronze to GM, while you're explaining the progression of certain builds... ... and also showing a few matches recorded more recently.... games where you used the highlighted styles, you figured out during the challenge, against pro-gamers in competitions or while playing on the ladder.

It's worth noting, he did have to try most of these challenges multiple times. This compilation includes the winning game, we're not seeing the 9 times he lost first~. And as he notes, a lot of the time it's about shock value, surprise, and of course the legendary uThermal micro. It takes time to pivot to a "hard counter" and many of these wins happened because uThermal was able to destroy their economy before or sometimes *despite* them making that switch.

So, regarding SCVs only... back in then Wings of Liberty beta, I ran into a Terran player during my initial ladder placement matches who almost beat me (playing 'toss on a 1v1-sized map) with no military units. This guy flew his command center in and did a Planetary Fortress drop the moment he had the gas for it next to my Nexus. The *only* reason I didn't lose was because I was paranoid about reapers eating my mineral line and had a cannon on either end of it, but I was low on minerals and almost out of Probes when his PF went down. Obviously, this wouldn't work against a *good* player but I never said I was good :P

I loved Beastyqt’s crazy X to Grandmaster videos. But he’s moved onto AOE4. I love that uThermal (and Harstem) are doing these crazy things, because while Beastyqt was extremely entertaining and innovative (sentries only to (almost) Grandmaster??), uThermal is able to execute at even another level above.

Mana did a super entertaining sentry only series, if you liked the original. Some bonkers games. Great time for SC2 content.

@@moozoo82 Thanks for this! I've started watching his series. I was excited to see him because I know that he's a better SC2 player than Beastyqt straight up. However, so far I'm finding that Beastyqt was more creative in his strategies making the series more entertaining. I've only watched the first 6 episodes so far of Mana's, but he appears to trying to play a regular game but with sentries. He doesn't expand nearly enough to to be able to make up for his unit comp handicap. Like Beastyqt going up to 9 base losing 150+ sentries doom dropping them against brood lord + lurker against a M3 Zerg.

@ganonk79 it gets crazier, I assure you, off the charts sentry micro, but beasty did have some style, there's no doubt. Also why i like thermy, there's just things you can do with pro level micro that make it a different game. Cheers!

what a great video man, I used to love doing single unit challenges back in WoL, was never good enough to do it against this level of competition but it sure made for some in my lowly Diamond/Platinum skill ceiling leagues. The Widow Mine video was just ridiculous, but as a fan of Giant Robots....Thor is probably my favorite.

Amazing video! Would love to see a protoss version of this for sure! Would cannons count as a unit or not? Otherwise probes only are possible via a cannon rush

That "uthermal?" question made me laugh so hard. Also, you mentioning nonchalantly that the ghosts had been nerfed like it was not because of your ghosts to gm challenge XD

You should try a challenge where you can only build 3 max of any unit at any one time.

This is insane. My suggestion for the next series is a custom map with base defense (tower defense) where you defend against other 2-4 players. Should have certain special units for fun
