Hey Folks, this is strictly a comparison of Polycarbonate vs Glass Windshields. I love both and hate both for different reasons... You will see why in the video. As Always, thanks for watching. Dew - Out!!

They both have their good and bad I can do the glass windshield for close the same price and poly. I have built my own frame for the glass and then I just have to go the a glass shop and get it cut. But we went with the flip up windshield from Rocky Mountain ATV. It is is fairly scratch resistant unless you run it into tree. We went this way so we could just ether crack it open a small amount or all the way for fresh air. We have had both this sour preferred one now.

I totally agree, I didn't address flip up's or quarter windshields as I have not run them myself. But as always I appreciate the info. You running the IHT this year, and if so, I hope to bump into you again. Take care Ben, and thanks for your input!!

The excavator I've run for years at work we have a Lexan window that goes over the glass one for doing brush mulching its about 3/4" thick and it took a lot of punishment before we got any scratches on it.. And when I had an Arctic Cat Wildcat Trail I put the polycarbonate windshield on it and didn't get much for scratches on it.. maybe its just me?

Thanks for the comment bert26a, funny I ran the wildcat trail as well. That 700 was a beast of an engine for it's size. As far as the scratches go, we kind of abuse the windshields, always running through leaned over trees and such. As you can see in the video the roll over had zero effect on the poly windshield I was running, totally fine. If that were glass, cha ching... there goes big $$. Hence why I like them so much... If they could just figure out the scratching, but that would put glass out of business... Thanks for the comment. And take care.

@@foggydew646 Yeah I hear yah the weight of Polycarbonate or Lexan is nice and the flexibility is amazing but yeah I do agree glass is nicer for scratch resistance. Yeah sometimes I miss the Wildcat Trail but shit was it noisy. I always joked it sounded like several swarms of bees or wasps. I'm hoping to get a Honda Pioneer in another year or two.

I agree with what you said but for my Machine the Polly was $650 and the glass was $1600. I chose the Polly for now

Buy a specialty micro fiber cloth. No scratches.

Don't wipe the polycarbonates with paper towels or sandpaper......

I went with glass....shattered with gkass in my face. Polycarbonate ?? Clean with water and specialty micro fiber cloth. Follow the directions and rinse often....no scratches. My 4 yr old poly windshield is brand new clear still. This guy is goofy.
