17 жыл бұрынThis dance was the most acclaimed performance among the competition's 120 performances which includes various folk dance,hip-hop,ballet,latin...dances,so it got one of ten best performance and second place award.Last year,the golden cup was given to the Uyghur dance Dolanliqlar,again this year(April,2007) the only Uyghur dance is the best performance!!!

This was also performed at the 2011 Spring Festival Gala TV show. That year had the best collection of songs and dances. 2012 was also good. This is a great piece.

I saw this video for the first time so, so many years ago, probably around 2008 or 2009, and had forgotten the name of it. Took some time to find it but happy to finally be back haha. It's a really beautiful performance: the dancing, the music, the clothing, everything. What a talented crowd. I remember that I had never even heard about the Uyghur people before I happened to see this video, and it got me so interested in the culture back then. :) This tune has been stuck in my head ever since

Thanks a lot for this comment, from me personally and I'm sure from millions of Uygurs around the globe. In fact, Dolan is an ethnogrpahic group of Uygurs living in the Yarkand valley of Uygurstan.Some of the aspects of Dolan culture that remain to the present day include the unique style of music and dance. The music is performed with chants, plucked and bowed string instruments, and drums.

sorry, this is just authentic Dolan dance, one of traditional Uyghur dance. You may have seen another performance with the name Dolan, probably that's the Dolan muqam performance.

It is incredible how Uyghur-Chinese peoples arguments against and for each other are so similar to those Turks-Kurds have in Turkey. Whether they talk friendly or with animosity, the bottom line is Uyghurs and Kurds want a land they can call their own country, and Chinese and Turks have no intention of giving them a piece of land. If millions of people think of themselves as a distinct nation, they deserve a country of their own or a federation that recognizes their nationality & sovereignty.

@KCAASE ,Uyghur people lived for thousand of year without "chinese culture" and created the most richest civilization in central asia. actually the so called "chinese culture" what you have seen today was strongly influenced by Uyghur civilization in history. uyghur civilization gave to the chinese far more than the got from chinese. if you have some knowledge of the history of chinese art,music, literature, religion...,you don't surpriise by my words.
