When I was 6 years old, in 1984, my mother sent us (my older sister, my younger brother and I ) from Afghanistan to Uzbekistan for a better life, as she couldn't feed us in war -thorn Kabul. We were brought up there in orphanage. I had a pleasant childhood in Tashkent, Samarkand and Fergana. I left Uzbekistan in 1991 and haven't been back since. I dream about Uzbekistan quite often because I was there together with my sister (she was killed in Kabul, in 1995) and my younger brother, and I have wonderful memories from this magic land. Uzbekistan has a special place in my heart.

Tashkent is soo awesome. I lived and worked there for a few months a few years ago.. I walked upon the silk road. Samarkand is awesome 15th century playground. We went to a few different regions. I need to see Bukara still. Uzbeks are some of the BEST people I wish I could see them every day. Lots of my friends spoke fluent English however many locals do not. Navruz the spring festival is soo enchanting lots of dancing, fe and beauty. The local market is awesome. LOVE☆☆ I enjoyed the food. People thought I was a Russian so this helped me safety wise a bit. I had some fun taking 'taxis' or Uber's from locals along the way. I went to a wedding on a Wednesday super fun everyone dances- especially men! There were a few l bands too ♡♡♡ Yes the metro is like a unique art/ museum in each place- I was like this is the Lord of Rings. Great to hear that you can take pics now. Due to the corruption factor in their bank -US dollars are best to exchange in the black market locally and discretely of course. Don't rely on ATMs debit or visas working for you etc. I tried one at an international hotel but it didn't work. I got really sick from eating at a small street palov however good restaurant food or local made is fine of course. (I've travel the world and I don't get sick often) My friend visited me from Canada and she needed to get a 'special visa' to get in the country which was 100-150 dollars or so via! Enjoyed your video you are naturals.

What I like about this video is that I can really feel that you are genuinely excited about Uzbekistan. I am in Toronto, Canada and I came across a Uzbek restaurant, and I also felt a sense of excitement by the sense of eclecticism in their culture and cuisine. I ate pilaf and they told me it's their national dish. :)

Indeed Uzbekistan is such a stunning and mysterious country that is being discovered for even us-citizens every day and minute. Hospitable people, mysterious history which reminds of detective movies, lol, and breathtaking mountains are the very things that make Uzbekistan 🇺🇿 so special. Here you can find off the beaten track places which enables you to getaway from city life. Being in Uzbekistan is just a chance to live in two lives: 1) Historical one(feeling how your ancestors lived) 2) Modern one (feeling why your ancestors sacrificed their lives in wars) So guys, you are always welcome here 🤗
