Here's one of my favourite scenes from the wonderful film "V for Vendetta". 'Till the end credits I always forget that it's Hugo behind the mask.
Although he annoyed the hell out of me as Elrond (I confess it's BECAUSE he was Elrond) I fell in love with his voice as V.
As Gordon said: Viva la revolution! :D Viva mon amie V!

@@tanyawieczorek7943 it’s a famous suit of armour, that’s currently standing in a military museum here in England. It was made for the Field of the Cloth of Gold tourney, a huge party where Henry VIII and his rival the king of France (can’t remember his name, a Phillip maybe, but anyone from France feel free to correct me if I’m wrong), came together in peace, in the hopes that it would create a lasting peace in Europe (ofc it all went pear shaped within a decade of the event).

The 1st time I saw V sword-fighting with the armor, I thought it was a training session. Then I see that he's just enjoying a bit of free time. Seeing V has a playful side, it's what makes him stand-out from most anti-heroes. Sometimes, they strike me as no-nonsense types who don't watch TV, don't laugh, and never let themselves have fun. V proves the contrary: Vigilantes CAN have a sense of humor and, as long as they have a dark side, STILL be cool.

You just gotta love this guy, sure he's a lunatic, but his charm, honesty and his will to do what's right for his home no matter what happens nor how it's executed really makes him a great person. And that's why I really like the guy, I even dressed up as him for Halloween one year (Sadly not on the 5th of November.) and I still have the costume and mask. =)

I love this scene, he's so cute fighting with the armor and then he's embarrased when she sees him. So this is his favorite movie, is it because it's about the Count getting revenge like he's doing. I only watched the new version and I loved it. Also when she says she felt bad for Mercedes, I thought about V and her too, that at the end he wants to put an end to everything and doesn't stay with her. I love V's voice, it's so sexy!

The Soviet version, The Prisoner of Château d'If (Uznik zamka If) is superior. The end of this version is better. Even the workplace romance of director Georgi Yungvald-Khilkevich with actress Nadira Mirzayeva that played Haydee is more interesting than the cliché romance in the film.The relationship between Georgi Yungvald-Khilkeviche and Nadira Mirzayeva shows that Alexandre Dumas was right about the end of the book.

In the book, Edmond abandons Mercedes for a younger woman and Natalie Portman's French husband cheats on her with a younger woman. The couple had 2 children and this did not stop their affair. Dumas knows his people differently than Americans and English. The 1979 French miniseries ends the book.

This is prob one of my favorite scenes in the whole movie. In this, we see a different side of V, not the unrelenting bad-ass that can kill 10 armed men without breaking a sweat- We see the nerdy version of V.... the nerd that gets caught in his act of nerdiness by a hot chick.

I love the way the last conversation plays out. He says he's going to kill more people with an attitude like he expects Evey to say something like "Okay, sweety. I'll have dinner ready when you get home." It's actually pretty hardcore. He talks of killing without a second thought.

I actually *JUST* read the Count of Monte Cristo, and was shaken greatly at the differences between both movies and the book. I found (stereotypically) the book to be much better, a very thrilling read, but also must confess I'd probably have been a bit lost if I hadn't seen the movies.

I adore the way v tried to explain it to evey. She's horrified he's killing people but he believes with every fiber of his being that what he is doing is right, not only as revenge for himself but for the greater good. The conviction he had when saying "yes" is still my favorite thing to date

There is so much this movie conveys. The true wonder of it all is lost to most all who view it. So much now is clearly pertinent, and yet, so much now is lost on us...

I'm reading that novel right now and all of a sudden I realize how many similarities there are between V's actions and those of Edmond Dantes... good allusions!!!

V's a fanboy. Not of ninjas, avatars, or power rangers, but a fanboy nonetheless. And like all fanboy's he can be counted on to imagine himself as part of his idolized universe.
