It's not just Bill O' Reilly they're ripping into. They're ripping into every pundit out there who stir up people's emotions and mental states via fear, anger hate and a strong sense of nationalism.

numkie I agree that the ending is esoteric, as we've seen throughout history that anarchy isn't exactly stable. Tell me though, do you know any right-wing material that would show how this goes? Just so I know.

+numkie If you read the comic this is based on, you'd know that's what happens. Plus Roger Moore hated this movie precisely because they turned V into a leftist superhero rather than just someone just as flawed as the government was.

Problem is, I agree in eliminating this people. There's not even need for blood, I just want this kind of people to shut the fuck up and never listed to them again. Problem is, I want the same thing about the followers. Every single individual that follows the idea of crazy maniacs like these, people that put them in charge, they should be punished too. The masses. That's the thing I hate the most. And that's my main problem. While I consider myself more in the left, I hate with passion the volge. The common people, the middle and low class. I hate them all. They are stupid, easily to convice and blind against anything but the most stupid and easy ideologies.

Fun Fact : The original comic had V kidnap him and subject him to visual torture, making him watch as he would behead a baby doll filled with jelly, acting asif it was a real child to remind of his job in the camps and scare him, then kill him like in the movie. The original director felt it would be too extreme in the movie and opted for a simplistic death.

@@raptorfromthe6ix833 In the graphic novel Prothero had this doll collection he loved more than anything. V kidnapped Prothero and took his dolls. Some of the dolls V dressed up as prisoners while the rest of them were put inside this massive incinerator. V burned the dolls while Prothero screamed for him not to. ***** Fair enough, but I still don't get the connection. Bill still doesn't work for the government, while Hawthorne does. In general, trying to link this movie to any American Government or politics, I think is missing the point. V, in the comics, is an anarchist, pure and simple, he hates government coercion in all forms. So trying to say just one form of government over another is worse, is missing the point of the original story.
@DeusExMachina10001
@DeusExMachina10001 10 жыл бұрын
Anthony Clay This movie does not deal with the subject matter of Moore's original comic. This is about what democracy vs. authoritarianism, which is far more practically applicable subject matter, especially for today's world. The comparison between Hawthorne and Bill O-Reilly comes from the idea that they are both demagogue-esque media personalities that don't care about the truth; they just exist to rally support for whatever side they are on and enflame the opinions of the people who watch their programs. Neither has any journalistic integrity, and the messages of their shows are equally meaningless. Also, if I may, I feel that Moore's original comic didn't really have a point because anarchism has no realistic method of application as a social philosophy. Something like what happened in this movie however, is a real possibility.

You were talking about "brown people" in the Middle East as to imply that the level of melanin in Al Qaeda's skin was relevant to Bush. Like a true liberal you played the race red herring card and you played it fast.

I'm beginning to wonder if they all had to re-shoot some scenes where characters would say "lift" instead of elevator, because the U.K. and U.S. have different terminologies of certain words, which are said differently. Such examples are "rubbish," which is what trash is called in the U.K. and whatnot.
