Don't be comparing your life with others and putting your happiness in someone else's hands. It is up to you to be happy with or without others. Personally, I think the mv sends the message that in the end we should love ourselves and be okay with ourselves before wanting to dedicate our time to someone else, like in a relationship. I liked the way you interpreted the beginning and middle of the mv and I drew my conclusions from that too, a good way to see this message from behind is also to think that we compare ourselves so much to something which is sometimes not true, when Tae was alone he saw other people's relationships as perfect and only with happy moments, but when he has someone the other people's relationships are shown with bad phases and fights, which is ok, because that's how it works in real life!! because nothing is perfect... And when he had someone he was in the good phase of the relationship while the others were behind living the reality that is often not perfect, and this makes sense when we think that in reality on the internet, nothing is 100%, everything is only half, and only those who go through or experience what they posted know what's behind it! In the end he dies both ways, whether happy or sad, because it represents that whether or not we compare ourselves with other people or other relationships, life is one and we must We should take advantage of it in every way, not spend all our time comparing ourselves to others. Btw....can we talk about how Taehyung never fails to give us something fresh & different from what any of us thought about ?? The contrast between when he was single & when he had a partner was shown so beautifully 🤌 Also...the concept of how everyone was basically making out & being so disgustingly in love around him when he was single & when he had a partner , the same ppl are seen arguing and fighting around him....was such a brilliant thought 👏 And am still not so sure about the ending 🥹 Does it convey....LOVE YOURSELF OR SOMETHING ELSE ? As usual, Tae gets me thinking of so many different interpretations of his MV’s and music. ONE of the many interpretation I got, is that it’s a witty, but a sad sarcastic take an idol’s life( and maybe also for diverse relationships). They are lonely and they can’t have relationships only friends therefore everyone loves them but the pressure can cause ‘death’ and the second part is when they do have a relationship, then there is hate. And at the end of the day, they only have themselves to rely on until they stop being idols. I love that he is so experimental in chapter 2, trying so many different things and styles. His vocals are great, thought I do prefer it without autotune which big hit loves to use for artistic purposes. The vocals at the end were amazing, especially as he had a choir. I can see this being even more amazing live with the soul choir that backed him up.

And I'm pretty sure the tannies are dating or have dates in the past it's just that they r private people so we just don't know about it lol and that's fair, we don't need to know everything about them and they don't have to share everything with us

I’m not interested in if they are dating or not, thats’s their personal and private life and nothing to do with us supporting their art/music. However, my comment is based on the whole concept of ‘idol’ where they are all stereotyped with have]ing a certain image and how they l]get cancelled even if there is a whiff of dating rumours (that’s all of kpop idol industry, not just bts). You don’t have to agree with it, but is one of the interpretations I got from a macro level about this mv. I had many other interpretations as well as it is a multifaceted mv and song which is par for the course when it comes to Tae.

@@user-vv7hc7kb5o interpretation means open to your own perspective, therefore it doesn’t require backing from concept photo’s, press releases etc, that would then not be interpretation but actual and factual story/theme about a song. BTS have a thing called BU and have since the beginning made songs and MV’s which army have theorised about and interpreted nothing new in my view on this song, which the members or big hit never explained at the onset. The group is known not to be literal about all their song, during the On behind the scenes and on IU’s Palette, Tae has told us that we come up with theories and interpretations, in fact in Palette he jokingly said he would pick the best one and use it as the explanation for his layover songs. Interpretation is subject and some don’t see it and that’s ok, you can move onto interpretations you like.
